From what I have experienced, I feel that understanding oneself and others is important. Events that take place usually requires planning, which always have a planning committee to help plan for the event. Within this committee, these people will have to know the strengths and weaknesses of each other, including those that are not in the committee. Take CCN day as an example. We had people that were strong to do the heavy lifting because that is their strong points and the louder people to help advertise our booth. It is important to know other peoples' strengths and weaknesses so that we can build up on each others' strengths and weaknesses and make a great team.

I personally find the Civic Literacy event meaningful. The event has taught us many safety tips and the ways to keep out of danger. They also talked about the many different kinds of drugs and what they are usually used for. So i feel that my awareness of the danger of drugs have deepened.

For the CPR workshop/event. Even though i was fooling around with the dummy i still learned a thing or two about first aid. I felt that it was a very handy skill to acquire, in times it may come in need. This is also why I encourage everyone to learn it. It also taught me to be ready when such situation happens and always be alert at all times in case of emergency or any attack. One thing i remember most from the lesson is that 'every second matters and there is no time to waste when a life is at stake'.

In my opinion, i felt that the cultural trip was very meaningful, as we get to know more about other cultures. I like the Malay drum the most as it was the most interesting. When I was young, I always thought that playing the drum during Malay wedding was an easy thing to do. But, after going through that program, I realized that there were so many different sounds you can make by hitting the drum from another angle. It was a rare opportunity for us to experience the complexity of these cultural arts and we will cherish the hardship of the people making our cultural alive.

We had an entrepreneurship talk by some of our ex TP students on how to start a business and what it means to be future ready. It taught me how to utilize my time to its fullest and how to face challenges that we occur in life. It also taught me the importance of finding my passion so as to be successful and competition-ready in the future. We also had a talk by the Ministry of Environment and Water Resources on some of the future plans for Singapore. It outlines our national vision and plans for an endearing home, a vibrant city and an active gracious community.

Overall i feel that that the trip to the elderly home is very meaningful. We went there on the 24th of January during our PDE lesson. When we arrived, we immediately settled down and started setting up the venue for the games we are going to play with the elderly.
Firstly we played Pictionary, followed by Bingo and then we stopped all activities and went for tea break. Lastly, before the event end, we put up a performance for them and gave each of them a goodie bag before they left.
Many of the elderly enjoyed themselves and were very happy that we visited them. As some of them are lonely, having some students to visit them occasionally would make them happy as they can interact with us . Hence i feel that this trip to the elderly centre is meaningful as it is for a very good cause.
