This assignment was one of the first we did in ELRC 3500. We did a few facts about ourselves and saw what AI would do with it when you told it to make a bio about yourself. I enjoyed this assignment because I wanted to see what it would say about me with the information I gave it.

NAME TENT

In the first week of class, we created name tents with our first and last names with a picture of us on it. We did this to put at our seats each day of class so that the teacher could see if we were present and so she could learn our names. I think this should be used in a smaller classroom atmosphere like this class was because it was a great way to learn who each other was while it was also an easy was of taking attendance for the teacher.

CONCEPT MAP GOALS

The concept map goals assignment in CANVA was created as a way to become familiar with CANVA while sharing information about ourselves and what our goals career wise were. We had to create goals for ourselves that related with each other and put them in CANVA. I enjoyed doing this assignment because I wasn't familiar with working in CANVA at all, and by doing this, I was able to learn how to do a few things in it.

ASSURE MODEL

We created another concept map, but this time using the Assure Model. We used certain adjectives to put into a concept map that had to do with the Assure Model. The Assure Model includes: Analyze, State, select, utilize, require, and evaluate. This assignment was one of the more challenging as we had to find out a lesson for students at a lower level and then show how we would use the ASSURE model in the classroom within the lesson.

Symbaloo, Wakelet, and Pinterest

We used the three apps of Symbaloo, Wakelet, and Pinterest in many different ways. The Symbaloo app allowed us to bookmark our favorite sites all into one site. Wakelet allowed us to see how teachers can get students to interact within the classroom. We created walls for Pinterest with pictures that interested us. I enjoyed doing all three of these assignments, especially the Symbaloo and Pinterest assignments because I think they're both really useful outside of the educational world as well.

Concept Map of Greece

We created another concept map on places we would like to visit on CANVA. We figured out all the important factors to consider when wanting to go on a vacation and put them in a concept map. I put places to stay, restaurants to eat, places to visit and more in my concept map. I thought this was a useful assignment, because it actually saved me time on research on Greece if I ever end up visiting.

After creating the Greece Concept Map, we filled out a brochure with all the most important information for people who take a trip to Greece. We included the best places to eat, best places to visit, and best hotels to stay in. I really liked this assignment and it was fun to be creative in filling out the Greece Brochure.

Just when I thought that CANVA couldn't get better, we made a slideshow with a partner. I think this was one of my favorite assignments of the year because we really got to get to know our partners. We learned about each others hobbies, families, and favorite foods.

REMOVING BACKGROUND FROM PICTURES

We took many pictures all around campus at LSU for this assignment and went back and edited them, changing the backgrounds and adding drawings to the picture. This was a task to show how to change backgrounds with the IPAD and other resources. Even though I'm not very creative, I still enjoyed this assignment and think it's helpful for people to know how to change the backgrounds of their pictures for if they have presentations, etc.

Vocaroo Podcast Assignment

Our next assignment had to deal with podcasting. We did this with our partner where we went and read a children's book for about a minute and then got the QR code. This is one of the easiest ways to record your own voice on the internet and it's also free which makes it a very unique site. That's really why I enjoyed this assignment.

GarageBand Activity

We did another podcast, but used GarageBand in this assignment. GarageBand was a bit more difficult because you had to edit it and export in a certain way. We were able to talk about the LSU and Alabama game on the podcast and edited it after with out partner.

MOBILE APP SLIDESHOW

During this assignment, we had to create a google slides on a mobile app that could be used in the classroom to enhance the classroom experience. I did my assignment on Google Meet which is similar to zoom, where the class meets on the app, mobile or tablet, and they can hold class online. I really enjoyed doing this assignment and teaching the other students how easy Google Meet was to use.

Group Movie

Grace and I did our Group Movie on the day in the life of a KLSU Radio DJ. Since I work at KLSU, I thought it would be cool to spotlight the DJ's that work at the station and what a typical working day looks like for them. I enjoyed doing this assignment because I enjoy editing and compiling video.

Our final website was created to showcase all of the work we have created throughout the semester. It includes everything mentioned in this Padlet and all of the links to the work are attached to the website. I liked creating the website because as a mass comm student, I also have to create a website for my portfolio, which allowed me to see how to do that.

Greenscreen Movie

One of our final assignments was creating a movie with the greenscreen behind us. I did a greenscreen movie on how to throw certain pitches, where I pitched a little bit in high school and thought it would be cool to share. I enjoyed doing this assignment because learning how to use a greenscreen, especially in what I'm going into will be helpful.

I thought using Padlet was quite easy and think that it's a great resource to use when writing reflections, whether in the classroom or out of it. I enjoyed how easy it was to use.

ScreenPal Assignment

Finally, we used ScreenPal to record ourselves talking about our reflections on Padlet and to show our websites that we created for our final project. ScreenPal was surprisingly easy to use, but could be tricky to learn at first. I enjoyed using ScreenPal because it automatically downloads the file to your computer right away.

I loved this course so much because it was with a smaller class. We were able to do much more hands-on projects with each other and by ourselves at a fast rate which allowed me to learn a great deal in just one semester.

Next, for me, I will be graduating next may with a bachelor's degree in Mass Communication with a minor in English. I hope to become a sports reporter right out of school.
