Urban Architectural Depictions: The 20th Century Jewish Experience by Ava Tallarida https://padlet.com/axt868/gqj9wfo7we369y6s Throughout much of the 20th Century, many Jewish artists were beginning to flourish in America following the large boom of Jewish immigration during the 1880s to 1920s. Many of the artistic work from this time focused on the locations in which these communities existed, with large amounts depicting the Lower East Side of New York City, also known as the Jewish Quarter. Much of these art pieces explore the changing identity of Jewish people because of the locations they inhabited, specifically at a time with a large influx of immigration and urbanization.
