A new memorial plaque in Wirral has been dedicated to preserving the memory of Corporal Albert Laver, a WWII soldier who helped sink enemy ships. Mayor Gerry Ellis unveiled the plaque to an inspired crowd of family and townspeople, saying, “We are all very proud of Bert Laver.”

 

Albert Laver was one of four men who made it to enemy-held territory in France to destroy German cargo ships in the Bordeaux harbor. As part of the “Cockleshell Heroes” he canoed over 60 miles to achieve this goal, but was later caught and shot by the Germans.

 

Laver’s nephew, Stuart Laver, attended the ceremony. He said, “My mother always described him as quite a tough little monkey with a good sense of humor.”

In 1942, Winston Churchill said that Laver’s efforts may have shortened the war by six months. For every month of wartime, about # people were killed, and by alleviating the war by six months, we can estimate that # of lives were saved.

Washington – United States Senate is holding a hearing  on Brett M. Kavanaugh’s nomination to serve on the U.S. Supreme Court this morning. Christine Blasey Ford, who accuses he sexually assaulted her is going to testify.

 

Dr. Ford revealed the nominee assaulted her sexually when the two were in high school, her letter about it is going to be testify, she just walked in the court with a black blouse.

 

Blasey took her seat in front of the committee where prosecutor Rachel Mitchell began her questioning.

WASHNGTON- Christine Blasey Ford, who accused Supreme Court nominee Brett Kavanaugh for sexual assault in high school, attended the hearing at the Senate Committee on the Judiciary today. Ford and Kavanaugh would be testified publicly. 

 

The hearing for the nomination of Kavanaugh was originally held on Monday, but it had been postponed due to the controversial allegation. Besides, two more women accused him in the past two days. 

 

“I was pushed onto the bed and Brett got on top of me. He began running his hands over my body and grinding his hips into me,“ said Dr. Ford in a letter to the Washington Post. The court is going to questioning the details of it. 

WASHINGTON- Christine Blasey Ford, professor of psychology at Palo Alto University and alleged victim of sexual assault in 1982 at the hands of prospective Supreme Court Justice Brett Kavanaugh took her seat in a Senate office building to begin day five of the Brett Kavanaugh hearing. 

 

“I drank one beer that evening,” Ford said in a letter to the senate.
