With some of the process being like last year (first stage of registration). The process was smooth and simple. However, the following stages were less comprehensible as there were no coherent instructions which led to a lot of questioning and running around to find the answers. This also put a delay into receiving my student finance, initiating further time wasted when it would have been optimised for pre-reading.

I have got an email regarding my Registration Schedule. I have followed that time and i done my registration in just 15 minutes only.

My ID card was checked by Staff, after finding an error she reprinted it for free in less than a minute.

With the help of big signs and posters that got my attention in LRC building, gained my attention and reminded me where I needed to get help from. The staff were very kind and informative on what documents I needed in order to complete my registration. Also the ID picture came out great.

The event Process only took a few steps. Everything was so easy and I felt so proud to be part of such a great community. Everyone was very friendly and willing to support me and they were very patient with the more than 10 questions I had prepared on my first day at the university.

Could some of that not be done online? Also, I was originally told we could go earlier than our stated time only to be told when we got there that we would need to wait the extra hour and a half. There was a lovely member of staff who took pity on us waiting so long and let us into the line 20 minutes early the second time.

Additionally I had uploaded a photo to be used for my ID only to find out when I got there that none of those photos had been used and I would need to take a new one.

Registration team put in lot of effort to comfort the fresher's with Herts goodies and different pamphlets. This make students feel comfortable and part of herts family. For others online process was simple and well acquitted with stages with steps to follow. I also liked the fact how it was explained and categorized for fresher's, re-enrolment, January intake and students in work placement. This way students knew what category they belonged to and were able to process with ease. The staff quickly responded to queries via ask.herts.ac.uk and made student lives hassle free. Online facilities have made student life very time-efficient.

Stage 1 registration was done back in my home country and unlike a lot of people I know, the picture I chose was successfully uploaded.
Stage 2 was also done smoothly, but the waiting period that day was stressful. I had to wait for over an hour. Also, unlike my peers, I did the Stage 2 registration earlier than the mentioned date so that was great. I missed the first day of registration due to illness however, I was told by members of staff that I would now have to wait almost 4 weeks to be able to register onto the course which I could not understand why! I was then told by my programme leader that there was another registration slot available later on in the week. I thought it would be a fast and smooth process however, it took longer than I thought. They had a new system which meant that staff were training as they were seeing students.

My course was not on the time slot list so I wasn't alloted any slot for registration. The volunteers and staff very kind and helpful at many places. Alot of necessary information was easily available at oval, LRC and Hutton hub. The students union team Rida, Saj and Farhan are doing an excellent job making international students comfortable. Due to internal "issue" i was not sent part 1 registration until very late. Found out i was not the only PT student so the excuse I was told of being the only PT student this year and that being the reason of this delay is not valid. Unhelpful staff at student admissions and the delays in responses made it a bad experience.

Still have not received answers to some questions regarding payment and etc.

First year registration was smooth, this year not satisfied with the process at all.
