We will never forget Bruce’s comments at the Valentines Dinner when you first arrived at DBTS and IC. “Hello, My name is Bruce Compton and this is Mari, we’ve been thinking about getting married for a few years”. He said it just as straight faced as any great comedian would! We’ve enjoyed our friendship ever since. Congratulations too on the wonderful family God has blessed you with.

I'm so thankful for both of you in the various roles I've known you: as teachers in the classroom, both ICBHS and DBTS, as parents of my friends, as co-laborers in ministry (both through church choir and in serving the Lord at ICBC), and most recently (and what I'm enjoying the most...although I probably wouldn't be if it weren't for all the other roles you've had in my life) as friends! Mari, I will never forget your admonition in Sr English to "let it go" and quit arguing for points on tests, and Dr. Compton, your question about the traffic on Hanfor whenever I was late for class at DBTS was always kind (but got your point across VERY clearly!) and won't easily be forgotten! Thank you for your faithfulness to each other and to God. You are exemplary to those coming behind you in your manner of life, your contentment not to have your children/grandchildren near you but serving the Lord elsewhere, and your work of service to God and to our church! Thank you for your example, your love for God, and your love for each other! I'm so grateful to call you my friends!
