         <title>Visible Thinking Routine </title>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>Peel The Fruit<br>I decided to pick this routine because i have never heard of it, or seen it used. I am going to be using this with my tuttee in learning lab as we are reading a young adult novel. First i like this technique because it goes along with a graphic organizer which i am a fan of. Second any child should be able to understand the metaphor of peeling the fruit, and if they don't you could bring in an orange for example and show them in visually what you mean. This technique can work with almost any text if not all.&nbsp;<br>I will be using this strategy with my tuttee as we are beginning to read the Secret Garden. This will allow her to explore the book to it's core and she can organizer her thoughts and evidence in one place. Predictions can be made, questions can be written in as we read and perhaps answered through discussion, character development, authors purpose, connections between characters and the theme, and multiple  character perspectives.   I also like that this strategy can be used independently, or in a small group.  Additionally, post its are my favorite and building on the strategy over a few lessons or unit and color coding will make the exercise even more engaging to the students!</div>]]></description>
