There are many deities in the Norse religion but I will pick some of the most famous gods. There are Odin, the most powerful god and the king of all the gods, Thor, Balder, Freyr, Bragi, Loki, and etc. 

Their government system is Democracy and also they added some rules to it based on their traditions and their leaders. Their religion is called norse religion and is very important to them and their language was Danish. 

The main beliefs of them were norse mythology and they believe in it because many gods in the norse mythology are very strong and if they think they as their god the gods can grant them strength and power. 

They believe in polytheistic because in their religion they have many gods for example Thor, the god of lighting and thunder. Odin, father of Thor and god of wisdom. 

798-the raid of Lindisfarne

On June 8 793 Northumbrian island(northeast coast of England at Northumbria) found them selves under attack by the vikings and the vikings toke all the riches they have there and settled there which is also the beginning of the viking age.

865-the great Heathen army lands on England

The Great Heathen army is also know as the Great Viking army and they start invading England around 865 A.D and established a Viking state there.

866-York is conquered by viking forces

In different groups from the Viking army they finally made their way through England and came to York( in UK) and settled there.

886-The Danelaw is formally agreed

In that year their language which is old English was formed and started using it across the Vikings.

10th centry- They have the second viking king

Danish Dominance. Who was a king as king of a newly unified, powerful and Christianized Denmark marked the beginning of a second Viking age.

1000-The vikings reached North America

After sailing across the Atlantic ocean they have reached the North America way before Columbus and they as the first European to step on America. The people who first went to America was: Erickson, Ericson, Erikson, Ericsson and Eiriksson.

1013-Swein Forkbeard becomes the first Viking king of England

Swein Forkbeard was the first viking king of England but only ruled for 5 weeks and was forgotten after his death on 3rd February 1014, although he was never crowned.

1066-the end of viking age

 At the Battle of Stamford Bridge, the Norwegian king Haraldr harðráði was repulsed and killed as he attempted to reclaim a portion of England.

Shinto do not has a really correct time of the start, it came from the religion of ancient Japan. But the name “Shinto” comes from China in 5-8CE. When the Chinese Buddhism got in Japan, Shinto get the information of the religion, so they named their religion Shinto. It comes from the Chinese word “神道“。It means the ways of the gods. 

 

 There are no sent leaders in shinto. There are priest to replace them. Everyone can be a priest.
