Others reacted to Scrooge becoming generous and kind by looking really shocked. First, when Scrooge came into the Christmas dinner and said Merry Christmas, everyone answered Merry Christmas back really softly which tells me that they had to be shocked or suprised. Also, when Scrooge was talking to the Gentelman Visitor about how he was glad that he stopped by the day before, the gentelman said in disbelief "Mr. Scrooge?" When he said that it showed that he was shocked that Scrooge was acting that way.

One example from the play is when Scrooge found out that Tiny Tim died in scene 5.
