This is the core of Islamic belief — affirming tawhid (Oneness of Allah) and the prophethood of Muhammad

2. Salah (Prayer)

Prayer is the direct connection between a Muslim and Allah, reminding us to stay obedient and conscious of Him.

3. Zakat (Almsgiving)

It purifies wealth, reduces inequality, and strengthens social responsibility among Muslims.

4. Sawm (Fasting in Ramadan)

Muslims refrain from eating, drinking, and sinful actions to attain taqwa (God-consciousness).

It teaches self-discipline, empathy for the poor, and gratitude.

5. Hajj (Pilgrimage to Makkah)

It includes rituals such as Tawaf (circumambulating the Kaabah) and standing at Arafah.

Hajj unites Muslims from around the world in worship of Allah.

📜 نص حديث جبريل (من صحيح مسلم)

عَنْ عُمَرَ بْنِ الْخَطَّابِ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ قَالَ:

بَيْنَمَا نَحْنُ عِنْدَ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ ﷺ ذَاتَ يَوْمٍ، إِذْ طَلَعَ عَلَيْنَا رَجُلٌ شَدِيدُ بَيَاضِ الثِّيَابِ، شَدِيدُ سَوَادِ الشَّعَرِ، لَا يُرَى عَلَيْهِ أَثَرُ السَّفَرِ، وَلَا يَعْرِفُهُ مِنَّا أَحَدٌ، حَتَّى جَلَسَ إِلَى النَّبِيِّ ﷺ، فَأَسْنَدَ رُكْبَتَيْهِ إِلَى رُكْبَتَيْهِ، وَوَضَعَ كَفَّيْهِ عَلَى فَخِذَيْهِ، وَقَالَ:

يَا مُحَمَّدُ أَخْبِرْنِي عَنِ الْإِسْلَامِ؟

قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ: «الْإِسْلَامُ أَنْ تَشْهَدَ أَنْ لَا إِلَهَ إِلَّا اللَّهُ، وَأَنَّ مُحَمَّدًا رَسُولُ اللَّهِ، وَتُقِيمَ الصَّلَاةَ، وَتُؤْتِيَ الزَّكَاةَ، وَتَصُومَ رَمَضَانَ، وَتَحُجَّ الْبَيْتَ إِنِ اسْتَطَعْتَ إِلَيْهِ سَبِيلًا».

قَالَ: صَدَقْتَ.

قَالَ: أَخْبِرْنِي عَنِ الْإِيمَانِ؟

قَالَ: «أَنْ تُؤْمِنَ بِاللَّهِ، وَمَلَائِكَتِهِ، وَكُتُبِهِ، وَرُسُلِهِ، وَالْيَوْمِ الْآخِرِ، وَتُؤْمِنَ بِالْقَدَرِ خَيْرِهِ وَشَرِّهِ».

قَالَ: صَدَقْتَ.

قَالَ: أَخْبِرْنِي عَنِ الْإِحْسَانِ؟

قَالَ: «أَنْ تَعْبُدَ اللَّهَ كَأَنَّكَ تَرَاهُ، فَإِنْ لَمْ تَكُنْ تَرَاهُ فَإِنَّهُ يَرَاكَ».

قَالَ: أَخْبِرْنِي عَنِ السَّاعَةِ؟

قَالَ: «مَا الْمَسْئُولُ عَنْهَا بِأَعْلَمَ مِنَ السَّائِلِ».

قَالَ: فَأَخْبِرْنِي عَنْ أَمَارَاتِهَا؟

قَالَ: «أَنْ تَلِدَ الْأَمَةُ رَبَّتَهَا، وَأَنْ تَرَى الْحُفَاةَ الْعُرَاةَ الْعَالَةَ رِعَاءَ الشَّاءِ يَتَطَاوَلُونَ فِي الْبُنْيَانِ».

ثُمَّ انْطَلَقَ، فَلَبِثْتُ مَلِيًّا، ثُمَّ قَالَ: «يَا عُمَرُ، أَتَدْرِي مَنِ السَّائِلُ؟»

قُلْتُ: اللَّهُ وَرَسُولُهُ أَعْلَمُ.

قَالَ: «فَإِنَّهُ جِبْرِيلُ أَتَاكُمْ يُعَلِّمُكُمْ دِينَكُمْ».

⚖️ In summary:

The Five Pillars of Islam are not just rituals but a complete system of faith, worship, and social responsibility that guide Muslims in their daily lives.

1. Ikhlas (Sincerity)

Seek knowledge only for the sake of Allah, not for fame, wealth, or argument.

Allah says: “And they were not commanded except to worship Allah, [being] sincere to Him in religion...” (Qur’an 98:5).

2. Respect for Teachers

Show humility, listen attentively, and avoid interrupting.

Treat teachers with honor, because they are like the bridge between us and knowledge.

3. Respect for Books and Knowledge

Handle books with care.

Avoid placing them on the floor or treating them casually.

4. Humility

Do not be arrogant with the knowledge you gain.

A true learner knows there is always more to learn.

5. Practice What You Learn

Knowledge without practice is like a tree without fruit.

The Prophet ﷺ said: “The feet of the son of Adam will not move on the Day of Judgment until he is asked... about his knowledge and how he acted upon it.” (Tirmidzi).

6. Patience and Consistency

Learning takes time, effort, and discipline.

Do not rush; be consistent in studying.

7. Choosing Good Companions

Keep company with fellow seekers of knowledge who encourage and remind you of Allah.

8. Avoiding Arrogance & Arguments

Do not use knowledge to humiliate others or to argue unnecessarily.

Seek knowledge to benefit yourself and others.

From the Hadith of Jibril (Sahih Muslim):

> “Iman is to believe in Allah, His Angels, His Books, His Messengers, the Last Day, and to believe in Divine Decree, both its good and its bad.”

🌙 The 6 Pillars of Faith (Iman) in Islam

1. Belief in Allah (Iman Billah)

Dalil (Qur’an):

“And your God is One God. There is no deity except Him, the Most Compassionate, the Most Merciful.”

(Surah Al-Baqarah, 2:163)

If denied:

❌ Kufr (disbelief), apostasy. All deeds become invalid.

2. Belief in the Angels (Iman Bil-Malaikah)

Dalil (Qur’an):

“And when your Lord said to the angels, ‘Indeed, I will place upon the earth a successive authority (khalifah).’ They said, ‘Will You place upon it one who causes corruption and sheds blood, while we glorify You with praise and sanctify You?’ He said, ‘Indeed, I know that which you do not know.’”

(Surah Al-Baqarah, 2:30)

❌ Rejecting the unseen world; rejecting Jibril means rejecting revelation. Faith becomes invalid.

3. Belief in the Divine Books (Iman Bil-Kutub)

Dalil (Qur’an):

“He has sent down upon you, [O Muhammad], the Book in truth, confirming what was before it. And He revealed the Torah and the Gospel.”

(Surah Ali ‘Imran, 3:3)

If denied:

❌ Rejecting the Qur’an = kufr. Rejecting earlier scriptures as originally divine = weakens or nullifies faith.

4. Belief in the Prophets and Messengers (Iman Bir-Rusul)

Dalil (Qur’an):

“[We sent] messengers as bringers of good tidings and warners so that mankind will have no argument against Allah after the messengers. And Allah is Exalted in Might and Wise.”

(Surah An-Nisa’, 4:165)

❌ Rejecting even one messenger means rejecting Allah’s guidance. Denying Prophet Muhammad ﷺ as the final messenger = apostasy.

5. Belief in the Last Day (Iman Bil-Yawm Al-Akhir)

Dalil (Qur’an):

“And indeed, the Hour is coming – there is no doubt about it – and indeed, Allah will resurrect those in the graves.”

(Surah Al-Hajj, 22:7)

❌ Life becomes purposeless, no accountability, free to sin. Ultimately leads to disbelief.

6. Belief in Divine Decree (Qada’ and Qadar, good & bad)

Dalil (Qur’an):

“Indeed, all things We created with predestination (qadar).”

(Surah Al-Qamar, 54:49)

Dalil (Hadith – Muslim):

“A person does not have faith until he believes in qadar, its good and its bad, and until he knows that what has befallen him could not have missed him, and what has missed him could not have befallen him.”

❌ Leads to dissatisfaction with Allah, blaming Allah, and doubting His wisdom → destroys faith.

The signs of the Day of Judgement are events and indicators that Allah SWT and the Prophet have informed us about to show that the Final Hour is approaching. These signs serve as reminders for mankind to repent, improve their character, and prepare for the Hereafter.

The signs into two categories:

1. Minor Signs

These are signs that appear gradually and many of them have already occurred in our present time.

Examples:

- Religious knowledge becoming scarce while ignorance spreads.

- Widespread immorality and free mixing.

- People competing for worldly gain and material wealth.

- Positions of trust being given to the unqualified.

- Murders and killings happening without clear reason.

2. Major Signs

These are extraordinary events that will happen close to the Day of Judgement, and once one of them appears, the others will follow rapidly.

Examples:

- The emergence of Al-Masih Dajjal.

- The descent of Prophet Isa to destroy Dajjal.

- The release of Gog and Magog (Ya’juj and Ma’juj).

- The sun rising from the west.

- The appearance of a great beast from the earth (Ad-Dabbah).

In conclusion, these signs are not merely information for us to know, but reminders that this world is temporary, and every soul will eventually return to Allah.

Hikmah Learning The Minor and Major Signs of the Day of Judgement.

As a student, knowing the minor and major signs of the Day of Judgement has given me great awareness. It reminds me that life in this world is not permanent, and every deed will be accounted for in the Hereafter. This realisation makes me want to improve myself and not remain heedless of worldly distractions.

Among the improvements I am trying to make are:

• Managing my time better and not procrastinating in my studies or worship.

• Practising better manners and speaking with more care.

• Increasing my supplications, remembrance of Allah, and voluntary acts of worship as preparation for the Hereafter.

Why We Must Believe in the Messengers ❓

1. Messengers are the carriers of Allah’s revelation.

“Messengers as bringers of good news and warners…” (Qur’an, Al-Baqarah 2:213)

2. Messengers are role models for humanity. They will show how to live Islam in real life.

“Indeed, in the Messenger of Allah you have the best example.” (Al-Ahzab 33:21)

3. Belief in the Messenger is a condition of true faith. A person cannot believe in Allah while rejecting His messengers.

“Whoever obeys the Messenger has obeyed Allah.” (An-Nisa’ 4:80)

How to Truly Believe in the Day of Judgment ❓

1. Believe in all events that happen after death.

2. Prepare through righteous deeds True faith must be shown through actions.

3. Avoid sins out of fear of the punishment of the Hereafter.

4. Frequently remember death and accountability.

What is the effects of Belief in Qada’ and Qadar ❓

1. Inner peace and tranquility.

2. Patience and acceptance during hardships.

3. Get humility and freedom from arrogance.

4. Encourages effort and true reliance on Allah.

5. Strengthens faith and trust in Allah’s wisdom.

Adab = external good manners

Akhlaq = internal good character

If someone has good akhlaq, their adab will naturally be good.

But if someone shows good adab but has bad akhlaq, it means they are only pretending.

Hikmah of Respecting Parents and Suggestions for Improvement.

Respecting and showing good manners to my parents is a great responsibility for me as a child. Allah reminds us in Surah Luqman, verse 14:

“And We have enjoined upon man to be good to his parents. His mother carried him with hardship and gave birth to him with hardship…”

This ayah makes me realise that I can never repay the sacrifices of my parents, no matter how much I try. It teaches me that being kind and respectful towards them is not just a choice, but a command from Allah. Treating my parents with good manners not only makes them happy, but also brings blessings into my life and studies.

As a step towards self-improvement, I am determined to be more attentive to their needs without waiting for them to ask. I also want to train myself to always speak gently and avoid raising my voice, even when I am tired or emotional. Furthermore, I will try to spend a little time each day to talk with them or simply sit by their side to strengthen our bond. I will also make it a habit to pray for their health and happiness in every sujud as a sign of gratitude for their sacrifices.

More than knowledge: You can have facts or information, but hikmah is knowing how to use them in the best possible way.

Good decision‑making: It’s about making choices that are fair, kind, and helpful.

Balanced thinking: Hikmah helps a person see situations from many angles before acting.

Salah (Prayer) – Trains discipline, patience, and connection with Allah.

Zakat (Charity) – Fosters compassion, helping others, and social justice.

Sawm (Fasting) – Enhances patience, self-control, and empathy for others.

Hajj (Pilgrimage) – Strengthens obedience, sacrifice, and unity of Muslims.

It emphasizes the importance of setting the correct niyyah, as intention distinguishes acts of worship performed sincerely for Allah SWT from those done for other purposes, and determines the acceptance of deeds. The concept of Ihsan in Islam refers to noble virtues such as compassion, honesty, patience, and humility, which are essential for a good life. Internalizing Ihsan means embodying these values in one’s character and lifestyle.

Islam

- Refers to outward actions and practices of worship.

- Includes the Five Pillars of Islam (Shahadah, Prayer, Fasting, Zakat, Hajj)

- Focuses on obedience and submission to Allah SWT.

Iman

- Refers to inner belief and faith in the heart.

- Includes belief in Allah, Angels, Books, Messengers, the Hereafter, and Qada’ & Qadar.

- Strengthens sincerity and trust in Allah SWT.

Ihsan

- Refers to excellence in worship.

- Worship Allah as if you see Him; if not, know that He sees you.

- Includes positive virtues such as honesty, patience, humility, and compassion. Encourages doing good with sincerity and awareness of Allah.

Hadith Jibril

Example: Performing ablution (wudu) before prayer.

Sah (Valid): Conditions that make the prayer accepted.

Example: Having the intention (niyyah) before starting.

Rukun (Pillar/Essential Part): Essential parts of prayer; missing them invalidates it.

Example: Saying Takbiratul Ihram at the start.

Perkara Batal (Invalidating Acts): Actions that nullify the prayer.

Example: Talking during prayer.

Sunnah (Recommended): Recommended acts that earn extra reward.

Example: Reciting extra du’as after prayer.

Makruh (Disliked): Acts not encouraged during prayer.

Example: Laughing in prayer.

Sunnah Ab’adh & Sunnah Haiah (Optional & Regular Sunnah): Extra or regular recommended practices.

Example: Sitting for Tashahhud (Haiah) and certain hand movements (Ab’adh).

• Wuduk

• Tayamum

• Khusyuk

Meaning: Shows complete obedience to Allah. Performing Salah with khusyuk means fully surrendering without worldly distractions.

Effect: Strengthens your spiritual connection with Allah and brings peace to the heart.

Example: Not rushing through the prayer, focusing fully on every movement and recitation.

2. Jihad (Striving in the Path of Allah)

Meaning: Salah with khusyuk is a form of minor jihad (struggle against the self), where you control your desires and avoid worldly distractions.

Effect: Builds self-discipline, patience, and strengthens faith.

Example: Praying attentively even when tired or busy, resisting the temptation to rush.

3. Muhasabah (Self-Reflection)

Meaning: Salah with khusyuk allows you to reflect on yourself, your deeds, and your intentions.

Effect: Raises awareness of personal shortcomings and motivates self-improvement.

Example: During bowing (ruku') or prostration (sujood), realizing mistakes and intending to correct them.

4. ‘Iffah (Modesty & Self-Restraint)

Meaning: Training the heart to avoid vain thoughts and controlling speech, sight, and actions. Khusyuk in prayer purifies the heart from desires.

Effect: Cultivates good manners, purifies the soul, and strengthens moral integrity.

Example: Focusing on prayer rather than thinking about worldly matters like phones or gossip.

5. Tawadu’ (Humility)

Meaning: Being humble before Allah, realizing our weakness and need for His mercy.

Effect: Removes arrogance, fosters humility and gratitude.

Example: Prostrating sincerely, feeling the greatness of Allah and your own limitations.

When we perform amal correctly such as being honest, it helps us build discipline, consistency, and taqwa in our daily lives.

1. Rahmah (Mercy & Empathy)

Fasting helps us feel the hunger and hardship of the poor.

It softens the heart and increases compassion towards others.

It encourages generosity, charity, and kindness.

2. Sabr (Patience) and Self-Restraint

Fasting trains a person to control desires and emotions.

It builds patience in obeying Allah and avoiding sins.

It strengthens self-discipline in daily life.

Levels of Fasting According to Imām al-Ghazālī

1. Ordinary Fasting

Abstaining from food, drink, and marital relations.

This is the basic level of fasting required of all Muslims.

2. Special Fasting

Guarding the eyes, ears, tongue, and limbs from sins.

Avoiding lying, gossip, and harmful actions.

3. Most Special Fasting

Purifying the heart from bad thoughts and worldly distractions.

Focusing the heart completely on Allah

I also want to improve by being more active in usrah sessions, sharing my thoughts and learning from others instead of remaining passive. By continuously seeking knowledge and correcting my intentions, I hope to become a better Muslim and contribute positively to my usrah and community.

Example : smile, zakah, etc.

Purification of Wealth and Soul

Sadaqah and zakah cleanse our wealth from greed and purify our hearts from selfishness.

When we give, we realize that wealth is a trust from Allah, not something we own absolutely.
