The theatre crew enter from both sides of the wings. As the director Quince steps on the tree stumps to speak over the others with authority. Bottom stands right next to Quince trying to gain some sense of authority.

When Flute seems unsure about playing Thisbe, Bottom walks to the front and centre stage to how that he can play all the roles.

While Bottom is busy overacting, Puck the fairy creeps down from the side of the audience in front of Bottom.

Bottom turns to face Quince to make sure he is watching him acting out all the characters at once, as Puck leans onto the stage and whispers. The lights turn down.

The lights turn back on as Bottom turns around wearing a donkey mask (Puck put a spell on him to transform) and continues acting. Puck walks off back to the wings.

Looking at Bottom in shock and horror, the theatre troupe run off stage.

With everyone else off, Bottom wanders wondering what happened. Titania wakes up from her slumber and under the spell of the love potion falls in love with Bottom and showers him with compliments.
