I set up a shared garden with my early childhood classes. 
Parents, teachers, management participate. 
My students will then be able to reinvest this skill in children 
by educating them about the environment.

My goals for this course are getting to know other approaches to environmental education, specially the Finnish one, since Finland has the highest standards in educacional terms.

We are set in a rural area, but just recently have we started to look at our environment as an ally. Our two current projects are a small orchard and a STEAM project concerning waste management.

The Agrupamento is a group of very different schools and mine is set in a rural area.
Every school year I try to build a project about environment and sustainability with my class. And yet I know we could do much better. 
I'm quite curious and eager to get acquainted with the Finnish approach on these subjects. I'm hoping to get inspiration for my students' next project.

 My name is Margarida Marques and I've been trying to teach
English for thirty years :-)

I currently teach 12 to 15 year old students at School Frei Estevão Martins, a school that is part of the Cluster Agrupamento Escolas de Cister. Besides teaching English as a second language, I also teach citizenship to the one class I'm responsible for and tutor some students who are struggling with their learning process. 

 I've done several projects throughout the years with my students and some of them where directly related to the topic Environment. Most of the projects have had the intention to raise awareness, not only to reduce and recycle, but to go beyond that, following the idea of the 5 'R' - 
Refuse, reduce, reuse, repurpose, and then  recycle.

 My goals for this course are to get in touch with new ideas so that I can develop further in terms of knowledge and experience. I believe it's going to be a very interesting experience

I've been trying to share my knowledge with my students helping them to understand their environment and to take action to improve it.

I’m a primary school teacher at the Vändra Gymnasium in Estonia. Vändra is a village in central Estonia, about 100 km south of our capital Tallinn. I teach Estonian language and Applied Economics in stage I – grades 1...3 and stage II – grades 4...6. In addition, I am a teacher of teachers. For over ten years I have been training the teachers under the Junior Achievement Applied Economics programme. 
 
I participate the course (almost) as a private individual. This year I was awarded the national education scholarship which allows me to concentrate on my own personal development. I picked up this course because the subject, the timing and the location suited me. My specific interest relates to the consumer behavior aspects of the course. 
 
My direct experience of environmental education is rather limited. In our school we have implemented several projects with the environmental elements (waste management, stop food wasting, reuse of goods and materials).
 
I look forward to learning from our neighbors and from the co-students the creative ideas and teaching methods.
