When in 1937 Japan decided to declare war on China, America was very against this aggression and responded with trade embargoes and economic sanctions. Specifically, the oil embargo that America organized with the British and the Dutch was a thorn in the side for Japan, which imported 90% of its oil. The students participated in the interactive and followed along with the notes. The clues found in the first interactive reinforced what people probably already knew regarding Pearl Harbor. The documents at the end of the lesson introduced a new theory and perspective on Pearl Harbor that they may not have considered before. The only thing that may have went wrong was that we went a little over on time due to the amount of clues in our interactive.
