Banned import of English cloth to the Netherlands.<br>1566: Counter Reformation. Catholic church trying to fight back. Encourages war against Protestants. <br>1567: Phillip sent Duke of Alba with army of 10,000 to crush Dutch Revolt.          <description><![CDATA[<div>1559: Scottish Protestant Lords rebelling because of the amount of French power in Scotland. ary's mum Scottish so little power. Elizabeth Protestant so had lots of Power.<br>1560: Elizabeth helped remove the French threat in Scotland and got Mary to sign a Treaty (Treaty of Edinburgh). Made mary give up claim to throne of England. But she never accepted this. Gave Elizabeth power, reduced Mary's.<br>1565: Mary married her cousin who was heir to English throne. Had a son, giving her an heir. Gave her power but took it from Elizabeth as it reminded her people that she was childless and had no heir.<br><br></div>]]></description>
