         <description><![CDATA[<div>-They can do some elaboration.<br>With number talks, they can agree and disagree with each other.&nbsp; -That's a strength<br>-Sometimes if I ask them to support it, they can't<br>-Sometimes they have trouble elaborating<br>-Sometimes my kids will say something and I will ask "can you elaborate on that?" and they can't<br>Maybe that's where using examples comes into play. &nbsp;<br>-I think that's why it's so good for them to elaborate or support their ideas with examples, because they can tell you the answer, but they can't tell you why.<br>-Then they get frustrated that you're asking why and they don't want to volunteer anymore.<br>-So maybe tell everyone ahead of time that there is no wrong answer.<br>-That's the importance of asking why.<br>-My problem is with the wait time.&nbsp; I ask why and they give me this face, and I go on to the next person.&nbsp; I need to wait longer.<br>-Sometimes after a discussion, I will ask them to tell me the question, and they can't even do that!&nbsp; No wonder they can't answer the question!</div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>I don't feel like I did this. I have pointed to my poster, but they don't understand how to do it.<br>Caty: I can't give an example, but I know I did it.<br>Grace: We mentioned incorporating these skills, but I'm not confident that we did.<br>Sheila: If you look at these skills we are probably doing these without realizing it.<br>Tramel: We need to be more intentional.<br>Sheila: I ask that question all the time-what does that mean? We could focus on support ideas with examples.&nbsp;<br>Grace: If we could see someone do it then we can do it.<br>Tramel: It will be easier to come up with ideas. <br><br></div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>—we have great ideas on thhis<br>—that was our idea, but we just never...<br>—they have their partners indepentely, body norms are pretty good<br>—but we just need more of the academic convesration<br>—right<br>—we need listening skills<br>—a really good one we can emphasize is, i think, trying to hit everything is unrelisitic for me right now, but aligning one with informative, synthesizing and <br>Paraphrasing will get us to those listening skills<br>—I do converse have partner conversations, but I haven’t made that transition from turn and talk to academic conversation<br>—the poster really helped, they understood, they were looking at each other<br>—I think its easier for me in math<br>—the manipulatives in math make it easier to talk to have something in their hands<br><br></div><div><br></div>]]></description>
