I think it is more of a culture tradition. Growing up we are always told that we need to be respectful when there are older people around. Even on the public transportation, younger people are willing to give up their seats to a elderly person when they board the bus or the subway. In my family, even though we live in different cities from my grandparents, we always makes sure that we visit them as much as we can. At the same time, whenever they need help we always try our best to help them. They are great at communicating about their thoughts when there is a decision to make. They also know each other very well, for the majority of the time their thoughts are the same on a decision. Both of my parents are teachers in high school. Since I was very young I was thought a lot about the ethics. At the same time, education is one of the most if not the most important thing.
