Choose book on students reading level<br>2. Explain to student what will happen<br>2. Mark each correct word with a check and mark errors<br>3. Intervene as little as possible<br>4. Watch for the strategies used<br>5. If student is stuck on a word, wait 5 seconds and then tell them<br>6. At the end, ask them to retell what they read</div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>I can remember doing a running record in elementary school. I do not remember much and did not even realize that it was a running record, until looked at an example of one. I only remember doing one, but it could have been more. I was taken into a room, which was more than likely a reading recovery room. I remember reading a book and the teacher writing notes. Having experienced a running record myself, I can better relate to how a child will be feeling when I give a running record. I will make the child feel as comfortable as possible by proving a low-stress and low-anxiety environment.</div>]]></description>
