We just invented concepts to understand them, theories that apply to what we see in reality. Math is basically just a language (made of symbols and numbers) that help us explain the universe around us. For example, stones have always existed but math was invented as a process to be able to count those stones, and the numbers to be able to calculate more complex formulas and so no and so forth.
