This week we presented our activities´ calendar to Miss Ana. On Friday we went around the schoool to check if every classroom had a basket to put their bottles in. Afterwards, Ivana and Isabel went to elementary school to talk to Miss Andy about expanding ReQpet into that section of the school. Miss Andy told our team that they already have that program in elementray but that if we wanted we could talk to Lucero. We then returned to the classroom and counted the amount of bottle caps that we collected. It is the first week of the project and we have a count of 1,326 bottle caps... 1 chemotherapy down, many to go ! We think that this is going to be a really good projject based on how much we´ve seen it grown throughout the years.

We managed to collect 712 bottle caps on week 2. There are 2,039 in total !! We believe we are doing great so far.

This week during the ecology class we went to every classroom looking for the plastic bottles and caps. Isa Tamés, a team member, managed to bring 119 Coca-Cola bottles from her house and here in school we collected as well. So today we made 177 bottle caps, and now we have 2,216 in total. While going trough the classrooms we weren´t able to enter and collect the bottle basket of Room 3, the teacher didn´t want us in. Sofia L and Tamara collected the bottles of the first and third floor while Ivana and Diana collected from the second floor. We are helping the enviornment and having fun while doing it! :)

In the past couple of days, teachers and students have been placing their plastic bottles in the corresponfing containers provided by our team. Isabel and Tamara went to the second floor, but not many teachers had plastic bottles. We´ve also noticed an increase in thermoses, so that could be a reason there weren´t as many plastic bottles as other weeks. This week we managed to collect 205 bottle caps, so now we have a total of 2,421 bottle caps.

Today most memebers of the group were absent. At first Sofia passed to every class looking for the plastic bottles. There was no problem with any teacher, but many classrooms had no bottles in their baskets. Ivana was abscent due to a school trip so she was the one who took charge of taking all the plastic bottles of this past and following weekoutside to the big recycling bin.Miss Ana gave Sofia all the caps she had recollected (Thank you), so Sofia, Isa and Diana counted the caps and we had 1153 caps! So now in total we have 3574! It feels great to know that we have helped 3 children now.

Today the team went class to class recollecting the bottles and caps of every room in the school. We have observed how students and teachers are slowly participating less in the recollection of bottles. There are not so much bottles as there were in the begining of the year, which could be a good thing because it means that students are using less plastic. It could also mean that people are throwing their bottles to the normal trash and not the assigned bins we have for the bottles. Today we recollected 968 caps, in total we now have 4542! Every room has their bin except for room 9, we will work on it. We recollected sufficient bottles and left them outside in the ReQpet bin. We´ve given 4 chemotherapies.

Today, all members of the group attended to school. Isabel, Maria Sofia, Ivana and Diana went to all the three floors to collect the bottles and tapitas from the classrooms. I, Tamara stayed in the classroom to keep track of everything and write it in here. Teachers and students don't really take ReQpet seriously, since their bins are almost always empty, I guess they throw the bottles into the first trash they see. An exception for this is Mr. Nico from French class, his bin is always full :) and he gets really excited when we go pick it up! Every teacher should have the same attitude, we'll talk to them to make them thing about the things they could change to help save the world. Today, we collected another 378 tapitas!! alongside with a bag filled with empty bottles. That gives us 4920 tapitas in total! Almost 5 chemotherapies!!

Since she knew she was going to be gone she brought 834 bottle caps that she had been collecting. Isabel stayed in the room checking and correcting the padlet according to the teacher´s corrections. Ivana and Diana went to every classroom and bin downstaris for the bottles. They collected the bottles and all of the team separated bottle caps from bottles. While they were gone, María Sofía counted the bottle caps Tamara brought. Isabel brought two giant bags of plastic bottles which are already in the ReQpet bin.
In total we counted 930 bottle caps and now we have recollected 5,850
Isabel also went down to talk to Miss Denise about the weight receipt. Isabel stayed in the classroom still fixing the padlet because the order was incorrect. Later, Isabel went down to help her teammates because there were a lot of bottles in the containers. It was the smelliest collection that we´ve colleccted. There was yogurt in the bottles and some liquid spilled on the floor. Isabel went downstairs to ask for a mop so we could clean the floor. We counted the bottle caps and we counted 310 so that means 6,160 in total. María Sofía was absent for the whole week because she went to a MUN conference.
Isabel did this Padlet.

Ivana also brought a small bag of plastic bottles from home. At the end we had one and a half full trash bags of plastic bottles, which we then took outside to the big ReQpet bin. Sofia finished doing the video for our presentation for Saturday december 1st and also collected bottle caps and took them to the collecting place. Isa and Tamara also managed to collect several water bottles during but were unable to bring them so those will be added onto our padlet for next week.We ended up counting 73 bottle caps in total, which may seem substandard since it isn't that much but it is actually very good since it shows how people are starting to either reuse their pet bottles or just not use them at all! We now have 6,233 bottle caps.
Ivana did this padlet

Due to the fact that Diana was abscent because she had a sports track meet and forced to travel, she later brought pet bottles and bottle caps. Again, we saw fewer bottles than before but we actually ended up collecting a lot of bottle caps due to the fact that Miss Dea gave us a bag full of caps and we also found an even bigger bag full of caps in one of the white bins downstairs. With again, more stuff than just pet bottles since a lot of people that don't attend to our school disposed of them and, as expected, they don't know of the process that we have. We (Ivana, Tamara, Isa, Sofia and Diana) later collected all of these pet bottles and bottle caps and added them up with the ones of the first week of November, which ended up being a lot as you can see below.

Today Ivana, Diana, Tamara, Sofi, and Isabel went all together to collect the bottles. Today we recollected 263 tapitas. In total we have 15,720 now, so close to another quimio therapy! We noticed there were less cans than usual, but still there were lots of arizona tea cans all over the classrooms. We want to see if we can talk to each class in order for them to understand how the program works. We also noticed there weren’t as many pet bottles in the white bins as usual, since everytime we check the first floor white bins they are completely full.
Diana made this padlet.

Today we had to work on a thursday since this friday there's no school. The two white bins on the first floor were full due to the mini olimpics from the lower school. Isa went downstairs first and collected most of the pet bottles from the classrooms and started separating them from the caps. Tamara, Sofia, Diana and Ivana then came down after clearing up our grades with Miss Ana and also helped with the rest of the pet bottles. We emptied both of the bins and then realized that just about 3/4ths of the bin consisted of pet bottles. The rest were either yogurt containers or cans. Due to this we will make posters that say "PET ONLY!" to see if they will realize and stop throwing their non-recycable (at least by us) beverages in our bins for the laziness of walking an extra 5 steps to the nearest trashcan located outside the faculty room or the ones in the cafeteria. Together we counted 125 bottle caps and had 1 1/2 trash bags full of pet bottles. Ivana and Sofia then put them under the gradas. We now have 15,845 caps!!!
Ivana did this padlet

Today the whole team went down to take all the bottles and separate them for reciclying. Sofia was takingg the tops of the bottles and separating them while Ivana was counting them. Tamara, Isa and Diana helped squashing the bottles and putting them in the black bag in which we place all the boottles. Later on Isa put the bag where it is suposed to go. Today the whole team worked well together and took care of all the bottles in the school. Sadly we've been noticing that the number of bottles collected keep increasing more and more, which means that people are using less their thermos... I remember that just a while ago we were collecting less bottles but now people suddenly decided to keep using them, we don't care of the extra work but still it feels wrong that students are still ignoring the neccesity of reuse.

Today, the team divided the school into sections to pick up the PET around the school since thanks to the administration we now have containers on every floor that say PET, as well as the ones we have inside the classrooms. Isabel and Ivana stayed on the last floor recollecting the pet bottles, Diana went to classroooms 1 to 5, and María Sofía did the rest. We didn´pt count any caps this week because there was so much PET around the school. Next week we are going to stay and count the hundreds of bottlecaps in the classroom.
Isabel did this Padlet.

Ivana, Diana, Tamara and Isa went to all the floors to collect the pet bottles. This time it was much easier and faster to pick them all up since trash cans have been put on all the floors and we just easily pass by and pick them up. Kids still get confused and put yogurt bottles where pet goes and put plastic containers in as well, we cannot recycle those. This week that Sofia was away on the mun trip, she will take all the bottle caps to the place where they receive them. After counting and separating all the bottles, we counted 96 caps. We now have 15, 941 caps!
Ivana did this padlet
