for the video here is where I will need to do all of my research as honestly I have no idea how I want to film this or how I want any of this to look. At the moment my brain is flicking between two ideas . The warmness of the studio contrasted with the coldness of the stage they perform on or an abandoned building cause it does sound cool to film in and could fit the atmosphere of any song they may want to pick. Now wether this idea works or how I will manage the logistics of an abandoned building and getting an abandoned building to film in I have no idea.

For my genre I think it will end up being rock, maybe an old song will be used but I do not know so anything is possible for the video i just need to look through it and see how music videos in the rock industry are made and how good they can be at this point in time. The audience for this group of people can mix between young people introduced to the music by there parents or moving onto middle aged parents trying to squeeze the last bit of nostalgia out of there life.

For audio I think I am going to record there audio in a sound studio we can get access to then use that audio in the music video so everyones voice is clean and sounds right.

Working out my audience

For working out my audience I am going to start by comparing two of the songs we could pick to do and seeing which demographic and psychometric I am trying to aim to please

first comparison will be Linkin Parks In the End. Now as soon as you see this video it screams welcome to the early 2000s, therefore we would probably be looking at late teens moving into late 20s for the age and this would mainly towards males because of the heavy rock aspect of the song. now for the psychometric it would more lean to the struggler as in the song they speak on there struggle and emphasise this with the dark look of the video. Now the group will be difficult but its easy to rule out A and B as people of high class would not listen to rock music. C1 will also be taken out of this as they are seen as succeeders therefore wouldnt want to be listening to this sort of music as its about a struggle they dont have. that leaves us with C1,D and E which is the general population so in times of struggle, people would relate to this type of music which is helped by the catchy beat.

Now going the way of nostalgia which is the way we could pick to go with the music video cause it will allow us to appeal to a much older and mainstream audience we arrive at war pigs by black sabbath, god how time changes as 40 to 50 year olds stand for there national anthem. Now this song unlike Lincoln park does appeal to both men and women and would appeal to a mainstreamer from the C1 to the E category as it would of been the music they grew up with and has more energy than the other music video especially with the video being live and showing to people the atmosphere of the stage and everything going on around the stage with everyone it. This would appeal to the mainstreamer because of the fact the band, Black Sabbath was so good back in there hayday and new exactly what they were doing back then and a whole generation grew up with there music meaning several people will immediately be able to tap into the music which is very useful. The song has also been used several times after this because of how this song connected to peoples nostalgia meaning the song is already tested well.

STORY:

so the story is that it starts with the first person telling everyone to come on and get in the car cause they have to go to the rehearsal, now there all gonna be piling into the car as the song starts and although theres not a main plan for when they get in the car, carnage starts. there will be alot of medium and shots of the car from side on where you see people running out the car, one person running out for a cigarette break, one running around like a headless chicken getting there stuff one band member going to sleep (and the others pouring water on the head which I want to add an effect of the water splashing on to the camera lense. I am going to do some shots as a vlog style since I will be in the video myself and want to make some thing look like they have taken a photo and then the camera is still recording by the final bit they are on the bus there racing against time before finally getting there for the chorus. The chorus is gonna be a shot with a lot of medium and close up shots of the boys while the baas guitarist and the singers work on medium shots. I want to also give focus to the drums as it begins to break conventions considering most music videos focus on the singer like in the music video In The End and in War Pigs so I want to try and break the convention that my evidence has set out.

For the guitar solo i want to sneak in a cut where the electric guitarist grabs the guitar then its cuts then comes back to him with the guitar for the solo and everyone now on the instrument's as I film the full band playing 

When I am taking shots of the band I don't want to try and use too many shots of the entire band and focus in on the members so the audience is not trying to focus on too many people in one shot and with the shots for some of the band members I am going to make sure to have closeups of some of the band and the others will work in medium shots

For this I am going to write a production set that will be taken onto set as most of the time my sets collapse because I completely go of script and I am not paying attention to what i need to do

This is a checklist I am gonna keep with me to get all the shots I need

testing my lip syncing quality

So I also did a lip syncing test so I can get a good quality of audio for the music video and my plan is to record the full song in a studio and then film the music video using the audio from the studio recording for the video. Now this could go wrong but the best thing I can do is make sure to have the main song matched to the main video of the band playing then match up the story elements as a sort of B-roll as I continue through.
