The story depicts what life is like needing a guide dog and how not being able to see does not have to hold you back.
Teaching Idea: Teach a lesson on the five senses and then have students pick through the book and find examples of how Sarah used each of them throughout the book. Then discuss with the students how the guide dog was able to help with her lack of the sense of sight and allow her to live as if she had it. After discussion, have students do a small research project on guide dogs and what they do for not only people with a disability (whether it be visual or social).

I'm sure you think of loud music that can be heard by everyone. Well, this story is here to prove that that doesn't always have to be the case. Read along to discover how a deaf musician creates a band of his own for all to enjoy.
Teaching Idea: There are TONS of things that could be done with this book.
