If the questions are treated as trivial the child will feel embarrassed or annoyed. When a child struggles to develop skills their peers have it gives them a sense of inferiority. We feel we are doing our part in society by going to work, raising our kids to be a helpful part of society, and giving back to our communities. If an individual fails to contribute to society they become stagnant and feel uninvolved or a waste of space. I am not at this stage yet but I feel I really want to have children and raise them the best I can. In this stage, people often look back on their lives and either feel guilty or unaccomplished about how they lived or they feel complete and whole about how they lived. Living an unaccomplished life leads to despair while feeling complete about your life gives you a sense of integrity.
