You're going to see an exhibition about how Picasso influenced many other painters and artists. 1. You'll have to select one work of art - describe what it is / who made it... - describe the original work that influenced the artist - express your opinion on it, and why you have chosen it 2. Go and check what the others have published and leave your opinion on the work of art so that we'll see which one is the most appreciated in the class, and why.

.

this painting can be cut into two part. the first, on the left, shows a military group which represents the USA . The soldiers are follow by a tank and tip( = pointe ) their arms to the vietnameses which compose the second part of the painting. The vietnameses are escaping from what appears to be their houses burning.

the colors chosen by the author consolidate the idea of separation and opposition between these two part. the soldiers's skin is red and they wear black dress rather than some vietnameses wear white dress.

the fact that the frightened boy look at us and that the other vietnameses run to us create a reaction at the viewer and its what the author want to do, persuade people of the violences of the war.

Some part of the painting are ripped ( = arracher ) symbolizing the destruction of the war. He also chose to chock people with a large canvas which represents the characters in their real size.
.

.

All the elements of this painting made it original ( the size , the medium , the colors, the ripped parts ) and significant ( the subject and the artistic current ).

the technique and the colors used by the author allow to represent the horrors of the war and its consequences

The author was inspired by Picasso, more precisely by one of his painting, Guernica. Picasso was also against the violence and especially the spanish civil war.

In Guernica, Picasso put a lot of symbol, which made it famous because he leave the public have his own interpretation and opinion.

So, Picasso has a large impact on every artist of all artistic current because he made work of different artistic current like cubism in guernica.

.
