Essential Question: Who were the most important generals in the Civil War?

I believe that in my opinion the most important generals were the Union's Ulysses S.Grant and from the Confederate's Robert E. Lee. Aside from leading Union forces to victory he also became president. Lee was an important general because even though he eventually surrendered he still won many battles for the confederates. The way that these generals affect us today is that some of their strategies can still be used today. Also whether they were Union or Confederates the actions they made shaped the U.S today.
