      <title>Bioprinting Neurons by Linda Rowan</title>

      <description>A technique called Laser-Induced Side Transfer (LIST) that allows for bioprinting of neurons has been developed by a team at Concordia University in Montreal. LIST uses low energy laser pulses which are directed at a capillary holding cell-laden bioink, resulting in microbubbles that eject a microjet of the ink onto the substrate. Remarkably, most neurons, were fully viable when assessed two days later. This research could pave the way for neuron-based printed constructs to assist in drug discovery, and disease modeling (Hastings 2021).</description>

After achieving his PhD and completing a year of postdoctoral research, Conn pursued a career in academic publishing, before becoming a full-time science writer and editor, combining his experience within the biomedical sciences with his passion for written communication.</div>]]></description>
