Some of the richest people were on that boat which had booked the fanciest staterooms. Their servants traveled with them. But more that half of the passengers were third class passengers. In first class 200 survived, in second class 117 survived. Then in third class 172 passengers survived. So overall this shows that the fist class passengers had a better chance of surviving. Some of the most famous passengers on board were Ida and Isidor Straus which were the owners of the Macys Department Store.

“As I was put into the boat, he cried to me, ‘It’s all right, little girl.

The Titanic was built in a shipyard in Northern Ireland. The construction began on March 31, 1909. The Titanic was owned by the White Star company. 15,000 people worked on the Titanic's construction and the cost was 7.5 million dollars. The length of the Titanic was almost 900 feet long. The Titanic had 16 watertight compartments. Each compartment had a pumping system to delay the rise in water if an accident did happen. The keel and the center beams at the bottom of the hull were the heaviest and thickest ever put on a ship. The Titanic weighed about 46,000 pounds. With all the people and staff on board, the Titanic weighed more like 60,000 pounds. The Titanic had three propellers that produced horsepower of 50,000. The great ship only had 20 life boats on board.

By: Miles
Summary:
This Article is about the Titanic and the path it took to sink, And it also is about some of the ways the people who built it and who operated it could of made a difference on how it could have ended.

In the begin the author start with the question how did the "Unsinkable" Titanic sink. The author goes on by saying that the Titanic had some design flaws and it was not made with the best martial and that if they had made the Titanic with better martial it could have not broken as easily and that maybe it would have not sunken.

The author goes on with the operators and what they could have do to stop the Titanic for sinking. One of the things about the Titanic is they said they would get to there destanation very fast. The Titanic traveled at a speed of 22 notes when a good speed was 15 notes and if they would have been traveling at 15 notes instead of a 300 foot hole there would have been a 75 foot hole and I think this would have made a big difference
