Character trait #1

Throughout the story Walter starts to develop a form of mild depression. He thinks that he is worthless to his family because he cant support them and isn't able to give them their happiness. He then gets even worse when Willy Harris steals all his money so he sits alone at a bar and drinks every night. Though in the end he buys his family a house because he wants to prove that he is not worthless and he can support his family.

The second character trait i chose for Walter is aggressive. From the opening scene to the end of the story he his aggressive and mean towards his family. It starts off at him yelling at his wife to kicking people out his house and losing all his money to his friend. There are times whee he is nice and does kind things but overall he is aggressive towards everybody and rude to his family.

Personal Opinion #3

My personal opinion on Walter lee is that he is wound up and hostile but still a good person. Right in the beginning of the story it starts out with Walter yelling at his wife over breakfast. "(Slams the table and jumps up)-DAMN MY EGGS-DAMN ALL THE EGGS THAT EVER WAS!" This shows how aggressive he is towards his family and just in general. As the story progresses he changes his ways and starts to care more for his family. He ends up losing his money but then he still buys the house because he knows that is what his mom and family wants.

Art that Relates #4

In this painting it shows and angry man yelling and raising his hand at his wife. I dont think Walter would ever try to hit her but he does yell at her all the time. this picture reminds me of two scenes the first in the beginning of the novel when he slammed the table and started yelling about the eggs and being broke. The other scene is towards the end when he is yelling at Lindner to leave his house when he insulted Walter.

It talks about trying to give someone their happiness back and that is what Walter does when he buys them the house. It also talks about hope and that is when he let them down of having their dream house but he doesn't lose faith and still gets it for them anyway. The whole point of this poem and the novel is trying to give someone you care about happiness.

This song relates to Walter in many ways especially when he loses all of the money for his sisters school and the house. In this song it s talking about how somebody is losing everything but still wants to know if they would still love them. This is what happened to Walter when he lost all of the family's money which to them was everything they had. Walter thought they wouldn't want to talk to him but he was wrong they still love him for who he is which is why he bought them the house.

Theme #8

The theme of A Raisin in the sun is all about strength in your family when they all support each other and have pride. Walter says "I mean we are very proud people" this support what i said about them being proud of who they are and what they are doing. Before Walter said this he was just going to take the money back and not buy the house but he realized that is not what his dad would have wanted and he didn't want to go down without a fight. He knew how much his family wanted that house and deserved that house which made him grateful to be a part of that family and how proud he is of his sister and son for what they did or are going to do. All of this put together is what made him realize how supportive his loved ones are and how proud he is to say that he is a part of the family.
