My Body
ScienceObserving physical body parts on their peers.
Language-(3+) Matching pictures to body parts.(4+) Matching labels to body parts.
Creative Arts-Singing a song about physical body parts. (Top Notch) or (head and shoulders knees and toes)
Procedures:Introduce the activity by singing the song “Top Notch” while demonstrating actions for children to follow.
Children will be asked to observe their peers and identify as many visible body parts.
The teacher will then display a chart displaying outer body parts with matching labels and pictures and engage the children in a discussion about the uses of their body parts.4+ children can copy the labels.3+ can colour the pictures of matching Children will then use labels and pictures to match the body parts seen on the chart.
Teacher and children will then engage in singing the “to Notch” song while demonstrating actions to close the activity.
PhysicalPlaying a game of head, shoulders, knees and toes.
Warm Up:Children will warm up by jogging on the spot for 2 minutes.
Procedure: Children will find their own space in the outdoor area where they are not touching eachother.
Teacher will then sing the Head, Shoulders, Knees and Toes song at different speeds for the children to touch each body part mentioned in the song.
The game will continue at fast and slow speeds.
Cool Down: The children will cool down by taking 5 deep breaths. Children will transition to wash hands in preparation for lunch.

| Hand Print Collage
Maths-(3+) Rote counting fingers on their hands to get the value of 10. (4+) Using different measuring tools to measure the length of their arms. (palet sticks, strings)
Social StudiesDiscussing the functions of their arms and fingers.
CreativeCreating a hand collage using different art materials.

Procedures: Introduce the activity by singing a song “1,2,3,4.5 Once i caught a fish alive……”
Children will be asked: How many fingers on their hands altogether?children will respond.
Children will be asked to rote count fingers on hands to get the value of ten.
The teacher will engage the children in a discussion about the functions of their arms and fingers.
Children will be asked: What are some of the things you can do with your arms and fingers?Children will take turns orally listing the things their arms and fingers can do.
Children will create a hand collage using different art materials to print hands..
Children will use different measuring tools to measure the length of their arms(4+)
Children will close activity singing a song of their choice.
PhysicalUsing their arms and fingers to throw a ball
Warm Up: Children will warm up by doing ten jumping jacks.
Procedure: Children will listen to instructions for the game.Children will stand in a horizontal line.
One child will stand and turn his/her back to the children holding a ball.
The child with the ball will throw the ball over their head and a child will catch the ball and hide it behind their back. Children will asked: Who has the ball?Child will turn around and guess the child that has the ball. If the child say the correct name she/he has to continue until he says the incorrect name.
Cool down: Stretching with both hands facing upward, inhaling and exhaling.
Children will now transition to go inside for lunch.

Creative: Making feet prints on paper using paint.
Maths: Comparing sizes of feet prints made by peers (3+)
Sequencing feet prints from smallest to biggest (4+)
Language: Orally naming parts of their feet(toes, heel, ankle)
Procedures: Introduce the activity children singing” The ants go marching one by one “Children will be asked :where is your feet? Can you count them?Do you know the parts of your feet?
Children will be asked to take off their shoes and socks.
Teacher will asked: Do you know the parts of your feet?Can you count your toes?Children will orally name the parts of their feet( heel,ankle,toes.
Children will take turns making feet prints on paper using paint.
Children will compare sizes of feet prints made by their peers (3+)
Children will sequenced feet prints from smallest to biggest.(4+)
Children will display their work on the wall at their level.Children will end activity by recalling and singing the pack away song.
Physical: Alternating feet while playing a game of hop scotch.
Warm Up: By running on the spot rote counting from 1to 10.
Procedure: Teacher will draw a hopscotch design on the ground.Teacher will show the children a brief demonstration how to play a game of hopscotch.
Children will take turns throwing a stone or similar object (small beanbag, shell, button to land on square one.
Child will hop through the squares using one foot and skipping the one you have your marker.
Child will then turn around when they reach the last box.Child will pick up the marker on their way back.
Child will pass on to the next person when he/she finnish hop back to the starting line .
Cool down: The children will cool down stretching inhaling and exhaling.
Children will form a line to go indoors to transition for lunch.

| Facial Features of their face. Social—Studies: Describing the uses of facial features ( eyes, nose, mouth, ears) Creative: Molding facial features using plasticine(3+) Making their entire face using papier mache (4+)Science; Using their 5 senses to explore their environment. Identifying their facial senses and their uses.
Procedures:Introduction: The children will sing the song "Head, Shoulders, Knees and Toes" to recall their body parts.The teacher will ask questions:1.What body part do you use to see? ( hear, smell, taste, see)Children will respond and a discussion about their facial features will follow.The children will create a face using plasticine (3+) and paper mache (4+).The children will orally name the features on their face model.The teacher and children will move around the environment using their senses to explore objects.The activity will close with the children recalling the objects explored and the senses used.Display their work and transition to Free Play in their classroom.
Physical: Balancing across beams.Warm up: 10 Jumping JacksThe teacher will explain the safety rules of using the balance beam.The teacher will explain to the children, with a demonstration, how the task is done.The 3+ children will take turns walking across the balance beam, while they move their arms in different directions.The 4+ will balance objects on their heads as they walk across the balance beam.Cool Down: Stretching and 5 deep breaths.

| Ginger Bread Man
ScienceMaking Ginger Bread Cookies using their sense of touch, taste and smell.
LanguagePicture reading the recipe chart for the cookies.
MathsMeasuring ingredients to make cookies.
Procedures:Introduce the activity by displaying a picture of the Ginger Bread Man for the children to identify visible body parts.
Children will wash hands and put on aprons to begin the activity.
Teacher will display the recipe chart and place all ingredients and utensils on the table.
Children will picture read recipe chart to identify ingredients and follow instructions to measure ingredients as the teacher reads each step in the method.
Children will use their senses to taste, smell and feel texturesthe dry and wet ingredients when they are mixed to form a dough.
They will then use cookie cutters and and tooth picks to put in body parts on their cookies.
The teacher will place cookies in the oven and assist the children to clean the work area and pack away the untensils.
Children will recall the ingredients and steps they took to make their cookies.they will also name the body parts on their dough.
The teacher will then read the children the story about the ginger bread man while the cookies are baking.

PhysicalMoving their body parts to different Action Songs.
Procedure:The children will warm up by doing 10 squats.
They will then find an open space where they can move around freely.
The teacher will sing the Hokey Pokey, here comes Jackie. Riding on a Pony and the Bumbalita song while the children move their body parts to the rhythm of musical instruments.
Children will shake their heads stomp their feet wave their hands while the teacher sings.
Cool down :Children will cool down by doing simple stretches and taking deep breaths.
