Yes, 100%, not even indirectly. If that woman decided to end her life it's the Oregon Health Care Committee fault.

As they were unwilling to fund her chemotherapy and the only alternative was suicide, yes. If the woman could have afforded the chemo but opted for suicide it was her choice. -Hari

No. I'm not one to judge, I don't know all the details of the particular situation

You are likely never to have ALL the details in your possession. So when will you have a sufficient amount of data to be able to judge?

I think it varies depending on the situation you are facing. I don't think one is always more important - Jeroen

I think emotion is a form of reasoning. However, I think it is important that an individual does not make a judgement based on only emotional reasoning, there should be another type of reasoning involved.

Bhavya: I would consider reasoning more important as emotion is a type of reasoning as well. You are feeling a particular emotion due to a specific reason.

Both are important, as emotions can be biased and lead to a wrong result or situation. However, reasoning follows the strict rules and reason so no one is more different than others. However, humans are emotional, and relationships work well with emotion . Therefore, it is also important to consider emotions.- Stella

I think emotions are there to keep reason in check and prevent it to cause too much damage.

For me, personally, reasoning is more important, because I think that oftentimes emotion can cloud your judgment and make you act irrationally. However, it is also true that a purely pragmatic approach to all facets of life is unwise, as morally, there are some things that should never be done, regardless of the rational argument (eg.murder). It's a little of both for me, but I prefer to consider rational thought first. (Maitreyee)
