I was mostly focused on the fact that I was about to leave my friends and family behind for a while.

During my time here I felt homesick and lost for some time and neglected my mental and physical wellness, especially during COVID when all classes became online and I barely left my place to go outside. On the other hand, I managed to become a tutor and a teacher assistant which was nice because I enjoyed helping students especially when they showed their gratitude and appreciation. Still, I could not find a sense of belonging anywhere.

It was a well-needed break for me and it was good to catch up with my old friends and see my family. My first semester was a bit overwhelming because everything was new and I was lost more than anything else. I went through ups and downs. This is my second semester, and I am glad and proud of my growth.

Forward a year later and this is my last semester.
