Even though he is not given any form of credit, Da Vinci came up with the idea for a parachute a few hundndred years before it was actually invented. While his design was more triangular than the modern, more rounded one, when a prototype was built and tested by a daredevil in 2000 it was noted to be much smoother than a modern parachute. Because Da Vince’s design was a wooden frame with linen stretched tightly over, the weight of the maccchine itself also caused skepticism among experts
By: Grace Brader

Da Vinci knew that the fear weapons can cause is even more than the damage that they do. So, he created a Giant Crossbow that was 27 yards across and had six wheels, with 3 on each side. The bow was made of thin wood so it would have better flexibility. This bow held big stones and balls that were on fire instead of arrows. A soldier would use a crank to pull back the crossbow and load. Then, another soldier used a mallet to hit a pin out of place to fire. Da Vinci created one of his dreams, the crossbow, to fear but not to fight.
By: Felicity Worsham

Leonardo da Vinci’s flying machine had a wingspan that exceeded 33 feet, and the frame was to be made of pine covered in raw silk to create a light but sturdy membrane. The pilot would lie face down in the center of the invention on a board. To power the wings, the pilot would pedal a crank connected to a rod-and-pulley system. The machine also had a hand crank for increased energy output, and a head piece for steering. As the busy pilot spins cranks with his hands and feet, the wings of the machine flap. The inspiration of nature in the invention is apparent in the way the wings were designed to twist as they flapped. He was inspired by kites, bats, birds, to make the flying machine.
By: Dillon sowers

Leonardo da Vinci did not invent the clock, he simply designed a more accurate clock.
Even though clocks that showed hours and minutes were very popular in Da Vinci's time (15th century) they didn't make a big leap forward until the incorporation of the pendulum about 200 years later. But Da Vinci actually designed a more accurate clock in his lifetime.
Leonardo's clock had two separate mechanisms. One was for minutes and one was for hours, and both were made up of elaborately connected weights, gears and harnesses. And the clock also had a dial for keeping track on the moon.
Da Vinci's major innovation was to have rings instead of weights operate his clock.he also included the detail of some materials that would be used to make the clock including diamonds and rock.
By:

Scuba gear was designed by Da Vinci in Venice (the water city) to be able to surprise attack enemies coming in by water. The suit was made of leather, and you would have a bag like mask that went over your head, and there was a tube that went to the surface allowing the diver to be able to breath. There was also a valve operated balloon to lift the diver up to the surface when they wished. - Peyton Dodson

Using pulleys, weights, and gears; da Vinci created a robot that was capable of independent motions
-such as standing, sitting, moving it's head, and more. In 2002, robotist Mark Rosheim built a prototype of Knight using da Vinci's drawings as blueprints.
--Kierrah Price

Leonardo saw a flaw in the cannons that were being used. They were taking to long to load. Between shooting them, letting them cool and then having to reload again was taking to much time. Leonardo invented the 33 Barreled Organ which had 33 smaller calliber guns connected together. They would start out with all 33 loaded and ready. One row of 11 guns would fire and then have to cool. Instead of having to wait, the next row was ready to fire while the one just fired was being reloaded. Annika Steinbach
