Introducing yourself and they introduce themselves, ask how they're feeling - will be able to determine how they communicate (e.g. clear or slurred)
Check for any obstructions to the airway if needed - if they cannot talk or having trouble breathing/stridor

B:
Breathing pattern can be assessed whilst doing other assessments (e.g. difficulty breathing, wheezing, tachypnea)
Assess respiratory rate by placing your hand on their chest 
O2 levels - if time permits 

C:
Observe patient's skin colour - flushed, pale, etc
Check pulse - rate, strength of pulse and 
Capillary refill

D:
Check their GCS levels - eye response, motor response and verbal response will determine their conscious state
Check for pupil dilation and reaction 
Check bgl's (especially if patient has diabetes)
