Home Savings Bank, based out of Youngstown, and First Federal Bank of the Midwest, based out of Defiance, merged to become Premier Bank at the beginning of 2020. These were historic banks in their respective areas dating back to the late 1800s and early 1900s.&nbsp;</div>]]></description>

The problem was that many back office employees did not have the equipment to work from home. The bank's policies did not discuss telework prior to the beginning of the pandemic.</div>]]></description>

         <title>Transition of leadership and employee turnover due to the merger</title>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>Many employees were not happy with the many changes that took place. Merging of the many departments also forced upper management to take a closer look and to decide if some departments had an excess of employees. This analysis caused work insecurity. Specifically employment security, which involves employees’ protection against arbitrary dismissal regarding hiring and firing of workers. The lack of communication within Premier with regard to the announcement of changes to upper management lead to a heightened sense of insecurity for many employees.&nbsp;</div>]]></description>
