Secondary School “St. St. Cyril and Methodius” was founded in 1855. It is located in a small town of Smolyan, in the south of Bulgaria. Our region is mainly agricultural and opulent in tourist attractions, such as virgin forests and rivers - sheltering unique species of flora and fauna. There are many historical and cultural places. Another distinctive feature of the region is cultural diversity. Our school is the biggest one in the region and there are approximately 700 students from 7 to 19 years old and from different ethnic and social groups. The students participate in various extracurricular activities of national and international projects. Teaching has always been challenging in our school - not only because of the competitive learning environment, but also because of the multicultural classes. There are students with special needs and students from diverse backgrounds, so teachers usually search some new cooperative learning and strategies for inclusion. The European educational program Erasmus + is a great way to broaden students and teacher’s mind. Both students and teachers are open to work together with peers and colleagues from Europe in order to exchange their experience, improve the soft skills and key competencies. We have a great Comenius, eTwinning and Erasmus experience. Our school has also been awarded with “eTwinning school” label and our teachers and students are active members of the eTwinning community.

We are a small high school - business academy, we have 82 students. In the evaluation of schools for last year, we are the 3rd best school in Prešov - in the east of Slovakia. I have the honor of being the director of this school and there will be two of us in the project - plus my colleague, the English teacher Lívia, who is now sick. I take the project as an opportunity for the students, but for me, for my colleague, to move somewhere, to find out how teachers and students are doing in other parts of the world. My English is so for the needs of normal conversation, I help myself with translators.

November October and November 2019, our school was awarded with the "Student Friendly School" certificate by Istanbul Provincial Directorate of National Education. My School has Received a Clean Certificate for 2020-2021 Jul. 2020-2021 Harezmi has been the school that implements the Education Model. 2021-2022 Harezmi Application School has been eligible to receive the label. He has been the founder of 7 projects in 2020-2021 E Twinning Projects, and so far 2 of our projects have been eligible for international awards in Spain and Portugal.
