The Old Kingdom period dates from 2650 - 2150 BCE. The two rulers that ruled in this period were Djoser and Khufu. The old kingdom was also sometimes called the "Pyramid Age". They were all united and together.

Middle Kingdom

The Middle Kingdom dates from 2040 - 1640 BCE. Rulers did not have much wealth, leading to pyramids being built smaller in this time. The pharoah in this period was Mentuhotep.

New Kingdom

The New Kingdom dates from 1550 - 1070 BCE. The leaders were, Amenhotep III, Amenhotep IV (Akhnaton), Hatshepsut, Ramses II, Ramses III, Tutankhamun, and Thutmose III. The New Kingdom was often called the “Empire Age” and one of the rulers, Akhnaton created a religion worshiping one god, Aten.

Saite and Late Period

The Saite and Late Period dates from 712 - 332 BCE. The three rulers in this time period were, The Assyrians, Persians, and The Nubians. There were a few rivalries but none of them lasted long. They all inherited traditions from family.

Greco-Roman Period

The Greco Roman period lasted from 332 BCE - 642 CE. The leader of this time period was Cleopatra VII. After Cleopatra died, the Romans forced her people to farm food for them. The Macedonian/Greek army occupied Egypt in 332 BCE.
