<title>What are the learning opportunities and challenges for setting up a research project? How can researchers engage with and work with young people in the early stages of their project? How can researchers use arts-based research approaches within the early stages of the project? </title>

<title>Interested to understand the impact of these initiatives. Impact of young people, but also what about the adults or family members of young people? In terms of policy impact, how do we shape that and how can we ensure that there is policy impact from these projects? My experience (in UK with yp), is that yp are front and centre as co-researchers and collaborators. How do we get wider buy-in from parents, adults and policy-makers? Ways to go about it in research projects? Organise dissemination events or round tables; also to involve them in research methods. Especially important when there is a tension between ideas of yp and those of policymakers or adults. Actually getting dialogue going...having adults understand the perspectives of yp and impact of arts-based activities to change that dialogue. Come up with creative ways to disseminate in terms of videos. How to link to international policy frameworks and SDGs and how to use a country&#39;s commitment to SDGs to frame policy impact in ways to relate to young people. Could be way to look at issues globally and get in decision makers in country to link with SDGs.</title>

<title>Two way form of communication - contextual to local environment and cultures. Different examples of how song and dance can be used; key thing is empathy for young people and adults. What is driving behaviour between groups? How to use methods of communication to incentivise actions across both sides. Can use research reports and policy reports but can&#39;t beat actual dialogue - yp to meet and to influence policy makers in community. Can be powerful method. Otherwise, yp stories can be diluted by researchers. Face to face allows for empathy building across social groups. Empowers yp as well as engaging them in dissemination of research. </title>

<title>FTI - how they understand impact on young people and school children; Kyrgyz mentality is young people not heard. Their feelings not so much articulated in community. YP don&#39;t know the ways to pronounce or voice them. They notice during project that using arts is a helpful tool to teach yp to express their feelings and to talk about their problems. Can be productive communication. When they started, they had research investigation (talked to authorities) and created map of stakeholders to know who should be involved in communication and to react to the needs and problems of yp. Local level - women&#39;s council, council, organisation of elderly people and authorities. Identify how can be involved in project. They created set of information meetings with these organisations. What are communication channels can be created with young people? Created community profiles. In particular, if arts methods can be used in this kind of interaction. There aren&#39;t art forms being used for this communication. In Kyrgyz culture, don&#39;t usually use art forms to build dialogue. Meetings with school administration and school children. Find particular days/events that are used; pay attention to arts as dialogue about problems (could not identify this as an existing structure). This MAP methodology useful for communities where they work. </title>

<title>MAP links between stakeholder events. How might there be joint events? Hear about cultural embeddedness in terms of lack of arts-based approaches. How to use MAP and filmmaking to impact new approaches? Engagement with schools and teachers important area. In UK, find schools and leaders are important for this. They act as a bridge institution. They can understand yp, school environment - and government and understand school and school system. This can help to drive this dialogue. </title>

<title>Impact through formal mechanisms, possibly using CSOs when using mixture, or to plug into existing structures. Most important, cultural context to see how to drive impact in different areas. </title>
