My school has also been very focused on getting the students up and moving. This was one of the top ten tips UDL tips. I think this is so important for my students. My school uses block scheduling. As a result, my students have each class for 80 minutes! This can be brutal for students with high energy. Getting them up and out of their seats not only helps them get out some of their energy, it also helps break up the long class. 

                I also love the idea of providing and environment that supports risk taking. I think students need to feel safe to take risks. This is the only way they will grow as individuals and as learners. I wish our educational system was built around this. Sadly, everything is still geared towards passing state test. We are stuck in this vicious cycle of teaching to the test, so students pass so schools get funding. Until, we break way from this I think it will be difficult to truly move education in the right direction.
