After I decided to change the theme, I began to choose the stories I was interested in in the ancient Chinese mythology.

Finally, I chose the most familiar story in my hometown city, Jingwei Reclamation. Because my hometown is a seaside city, people here used to take fishing as their business, and people had complex feelings for the sea. They are also afraid of the ocean while thanking the ocean for bringing them rich products.

Therefore, the story of "Jingwei Reclamation" is widely spread here. Because this story can reflect the spirit of people at the seaside who are not afraid of the turbulent sea and fish hard every day.

Jingwei reclamation is a story that takes place on the sea, so I want to choose things related to the sea to combine with myths. I thought of the marine pollution that is often reported during this period, so I did some research on marine pollution.

After investigation, I found that marine pollution is mainly divided into three categories: garbage pollution, sewage pollution and reclamation projects. The most serious impact of these three pollutions on the marine environment is garbage pollution and sewage pollution.

This is the story of Jingwei Reclamation that I have changed and improved.

The plot of the first picture is to introduce Jingwei's background, which has basically not changed much.

The second plot is the story of Jingwei today, thousands of years later, but there are two endings that I have been struggling with, and the two endings give people a completely different feeling.

The first one brings people a sense of black humor, using Jingwei to find people with the same goal to satirize people's behavior now.

The second is compared with the first one with a more positive ending. Jingwei found that now people are hurting marine life wantonly, so he changed his mind to take away the garbage in the ocean little by little.

Although it seems to be a change of good ideas, it also means that Jingwei's protection of the ocean like this is actually as ineffective as the landfill that she has lasted for thousands of years. It is also satirizing what people now call protecting the environment (a small number of people are protecting, and most people are destroying).

Because Jingwei was changed by a girl, the image of Jingwei is drawn as a fairy with wings or a bird with a human face in many paintings. But I plan to draw Jingwei directly into the form of a bird in my work, because the behavior of animals is often instinctive, and Jingwei's anger for the sea makes her repeat the behavior of throwing things day after day, and the separation from the human form can more directly show that an animal is shadowed by human activities. The feeling of sound.

“The Classic of Mountains and Seas · The Classic of North Mountains”There are birds, which are like black, the head of the text, the white beak, the bare feet, the name is Jingwei.

This is the original description of the image of the Jingwei bird.

When I was searching for pictures of real birds, I found the bird India paradise flycatcher. This bird often flies around on the water to prey on insects. Its tail is as elegant as a ribbon, which looks very dreamy. I think it is in line with the appearance of mythical creatures.

India paradise flycatcher was used by me as a reference for the appearance of Jingwei.

Sewage pollution poses a serious threat to the environment and biological health. Sewage usually contains a variety of pollutants, including chemicals, toxic substances, pathogens, nutrients and solid waste, which can lead to water degradation and environmental damage.

Sewage poisons aquatic organisms and destroys the ecological balance, resulting in a reduction in biodiversity. The phenomenon of eutrophication leads to the excessive reproduction of algae, the consumption of oxygen in the water, and the suffocation and death of aquatic organisms.

Jingwei Reclamation is an image in a traditional Chinese myth.

It tells the story of a bird constantly filling the sea to express its unremitting efforts against difficulties and challenges.

The connection with marine pollution is that the problem of marine pollution also requires continuous human efforts to solve it. Just like Jingwei reclamation, it requires persistent action and efforts to effectively deal with it.

At the end of the second picture, I chose the first ending, ending with Jingwei joining hands with human beings to landfill the ocean. The reason why I didn't choose the second one is that after thinking about it, I think Jingwei's obsession with the anger that has lasted for thousands of years should not disappear at once and then decide to help the ocean, which is unreasonable.
