My name is Amanda Duntsch. I am currently working on obtaining my master’s degree in Early Childhood Education. I received my bachelor’s degree from California State University, Chico and while doing so I also completed the prerequisites for earning my teaching credential. I have been working in the field for 8 years now. I started as an intern my senior year in high school working for the preschool that was down the street. It was there that I learned my love for working with children. My favorite part about being a teacher is seeing the glow of pride in child’s eye after they have tried and tried and then finally master a challenging task. Since high school, I have moved my way up from aide to teacher and finally to the director of a Head Start Preschool. I have recently decided to expand my horizons in the child development field and am working as a developmental specialist for children 0-3 years old for the regional center. I have extensive work and personal experience with special education.

I currently live in Chico, CA. I recently got engaged so I am enthralled in the process of wedding planning. I come from a family of seven children in which I am the second oldest. My three youngest siblings are all adopted and come with their own unique challenges. Through growing up with them and helping my parents navigate the educational system and IEPs, I have developed a respect for the teachers and administrators that work so hard to support young minds and their families.
