         <description><![CDATA[<div>In this exhibit we'll be exploring the various jewels from around the world that some of the most powerful kings, queens, and regular citizens would wear in the respective cultures and the significance of jewel. The jewelry featured in this exhibit are bracelets, earrings, and necklaces. They each will be made of different materials and serve their own unique purposes for the wearer.<br><br>1. Islamic Jewelry functions as a way to keep your faith close to you. Cresent shaped jewelry is featured in many Islamic texts which represents constellations. The earrings are crescent shape. In the Treatise of Fixed Stars, female figures (representing constellations) are depicted wearing crescent-shaped jewelry, both earrings and head ornaments.<br><br>2. The Pectoral and Necklace of Sithathoryunet with the Name of Senwosret II is another piece of jewelry that has a religious background. The pectoral contains hieroglyphic signs that read "The god of the rising sun grants life and dominion over all that the sun encircles for one million one hundred thousand years to King Khakheperre. The pectoral contains falcons, symbols of the sun god. They clasp a circle hieroglyph meaning "encircled," thus declaring the solar deity's supreme power over the universe.<br><br>3. The rams' head bracelet don't contain a religious meaning. The bracelet contains two rams' heads that emerge from collars contains exactly three friezes enclosed with darts. The upper frieze is tied at center in a knot with four bunches of grapes. The middle frieze has palmettes with pointed leaves; the third frieze, a palmette complex.</div>]]></description>
