The guideline I think students violate most often is number 4, Thou shalt not use a computer to steal. This is because it is more common for student to plagiarize whether it is unknowingly or knowingly due to more essays and assignments given to students creating this opportunity.

These violations may occur because of less time available for the individual or pressure. Some students may not have time and want to take a shorter way to finish an assignment. The pressure to academically be successful is also a factor. Another factor can be that a student may be unaware that they are committing this violation. For example, it is considered plagiarism even if you use your own assignments from before, and many people may not know that is a violation.

In order to reduce or eliminate this unethical behavior, professors and school can take more time in their classes to educate student how to use proper citations and how to avoid plagiarism. Another way could be, time management skills. Teaching student or learning as a student to not put all assignments towards the end can benefit the quality of work and can also reduce chances of plagiarizing.
