Happy School Leader Appreciation Week! I am so, so grateful to have had the chance to work with you this year. You are always so incredibly thoughtful. These last FIVE years have been such a pleasure. From problem-solving the next PD sequence to pot shots about our various blue-blood programs (I'm liking the AP rankings right now...) it really has been a pleasure. I had to go back and grab this classic which represents how far you've come over the past five years. You've grown into a strong culture leader, an awesome thought partner and a role model for our young women to look up to. I'm so appreciative of all the ways you've impacted the Little Red House and I know many others are as well. I know we all show appreciation in different ways, and I feel like I've told you directly how much I appreciate you, so to mix things up, instead I'll share an interesting math problem with you:

A rabbit is jumping up a staircase that consists of 10 steps. The rabbit can jump 1 step up or 2 steps up on each hop. How many different ways are there for the rabbit to reach the top?

So much gratitude to you for what you've done to keep the Little Red Schoolhouse afloat this year.

From building coverage systems to waking up early to arrange coverages to taking care of health and safety protocols or covering classes yourself, you've been an anchor that has helped the school navigate the tumultuous waters of this crazy year.

I'm also just so grateful for all that you've done over the past few years to make ENY MS a school of excellence. You will definitely be missed and you leave the school in Luis' capable hands.

You are the Paolo Banchero of AF school leaders:

1) Soft spoken and humble, someone who lets actions on the court speak louder than words and who likes passing as much as scoring. Similarly, you're quick to call attention to others and sometimes reluctant to take credit. You thrive at making others around you better.

2) Multi-talented, a swiss army knife who is able to do everything. Similarly, your skills have grown so that you can do student culture work, adult culture work and instructional work equally work.

3) A winner -- someone who drives towards outcomes. Paolo's teams hit their goals. In your first three years as a principal, ENY's AF Report Card score doubled from 506 points to 1,000 points. Now, the school sets the pace for all of our middle schools in virtually every dimension: student investment, adult culture and academic results.

As I reflect back on last year, I want to express gratitude to you and all the work you do for your science community 😊. You provided and continue to provide a lot of selfless help and guidance. Although the year has been difficult, it was full of heartwarming moments: and bright spots across your school.
