What other features are available to support students?

- Defining a word.
-Searching the word on google in a new tab.
-Reading the word with the speech support. I do not personally like the robotic sound of this reader and would not like to listen to it for long periods. There are no settings that I could find to change the voice.
-The text cannot be translated and it can not be opened in an immersive reader. Google Chrome is very limited in its functions.

How well does it pick up your voice?

I did this voice typing experiment in my room where it is really quite so it picked up my voice quite well. In a louder space I could see where the microphone might have a hard time hearing someone if there was background noise. I have used this feature in the past so I knew how to talk for it to best pick up my voice. It was not perfect and would need some minor editing.

Did you remember to speak the punctuation?

Yes I did. Even with remembering to say period at the end of each sentence it did not always do it.

Google translate can be beneficial in some ways but it is not perfect. I hope to use google translate to talk with families who do not speak english. Using the speech to text can keep a conversation going and hopefully prevent children for having to translate for their families.

The article "Yes, This is AT" did work with the immersive reader function. It could be read with the text to speech function but it was not very accurate. Some of the words were split up and spaced out oddly so the reading was not accurate and sometimes had large pauses. I would not recommend this article to someone who relies on the immersive reader function to read.

I believe that this article did not work with this function because of the way the page was set up. There are a lot of pictures and resources on each page. There are also different side categories on some of the pages.

Was it easier to read? Why?

I found this article much easier to read. One reason was because there were no longer adds popping up on both sides. I was not getting distracted and I could focus my full attention on the text.

Another reason I had an easier time reading was because the text was bigger. Without all of the adds there is more space to put the text which is much more visually pleasing. I do not want to be squinting while reading.

Lastly the article was shorter without all of the add ons and recommendations of other articles to read at the end. Even if the content was the same on both pages and the article was technically the same length for both. Being able to scroll down less makes it easier to want to read.
