The main issues our identity faces is Populism. Populism is an approach to believe that the ordinary are being ignored by the elite. Populism hurt the wealthy as it took power away from them to give it to the common people. The American Dream is to have a farm and support himself/herself and family.  The wealthy would make money off of those who try and achieve the American Dream by charging farmers for very expensive equipment. Another issue for the wealthy was inflation, as their value of money has decreased. Some conditions that the wealthy faced were they had a lot of power as they forced many common people like farmers into an economic collapse. The wealthy felt betrayed in a way of the government taking power away from the wealthy.and gave it to the poor. Wealthy at this time is enjoying the economy as they are mostly running it, as they forced many people into debt, especially farmers
