I chose this website as my first step because I found it to be so informative about all the steps to take once you make your decision.  This website explains some of the facts that you need to consider when you make this big decision.  The website talks about how to build your credit, consider making a budget, to consider the cost of living into the calculation of your decision and a trial run.
 
I feel that the ideas that
were to be considered were very interesting and that they are very realistic. I
would have never thought about doing a trial run to ensure that I could afford

Money Guru Gail Vaz-Oxlade has three tips for managing your money.  This tips are easy to follow and are proven to help anyone stick to a budget.  She explains that your budget must be realistic or it wont be followed.  This is very true.  Another step is to realize that money is only a tool and does ot rule or define who you are.

The woman on this you tube video goes through all the areas of a simple budget worksheet that Gail Vaz-Oxlade has set up on her website. It is a very simple and successful worksheet to follow and if you have trouble dealing with excel, she has all the areas filled in for you to use and all you have to do is fill in the numbers.  She explains in clear language how you should run your budget.  Use net income not gross incone,  Gross income does not take into account all the taxes and benefits that need to be deducted before you are given your pay cheque.

I chose this video because it seemed simple enough to follow, it was all set up for you to input your figures in and I believe in her theories for money management. I 
have watched her shows and seen some of her books on money management and she has helped some of the most indebted people become debt free and helped them follow a budget and have a financial plan with savings to fall back on in case of some emergency.

This wevsite is put out by the Canadian Government and gives some very good advice about moving out on your own.   It discusses such topics as first and last month rent, essential initial expenses that one may not even think of, and if you should consider taking on a roommate if you really cant afford to do so yourself.  

I found this website useful because a lot of people would not consider first/last month rent, expenses as furniture to decorate your apartment and possible appliances.  Also it discussed topics such as rental agreements and rental agreement fraud. This website talks about different reasons why a person should save money. There are more reasons than a person would think about. A person should always have an emergency fund in case of job loss or injury and unexpected expenses. It also talks about long term planning for goals you may set such as buying a car or house.
I felt that this was a good article because it talked about emergency funds. You may not think about losing your job or having an injury but this can easily happen.  How would you pay your expenses if this were to happen. Also people want to live with cars and a house and the more you have to pay down on this as a downpayment, the lower your payment will be on your mortgage/loan

This was a really good website about establishing a credit rating because it gave you five very smart ideas about applying for credit so you could start building your credit rating.  If you drive a car, getting a gas card would be a great idea.  if you are a student, with a minimal amount of income, you could go to a bank and apply for a low limit credit card.  The best practice is to use the card only when you have the means to pay for it within the time the bill is for.  When you pay your bill right away or within the billing period then you are still establishing a credit rating, showing good faith that you pay your bills on time and do not have to pay interest.

This is how I use my visa. I ensure that I have the funds in my bank account to pay for the purchase I want to make and then I use my credit card and pay immediately after from my bank account. This way I  am establishing my credit history and not paying any unnecessary interest.

This video talks about how to establish credit at the age of 16 or younger through a bank account and how to establish a credit at 18 years of age.  He talks about establishing credit through a secured line of credit or credit card.  He also talks about using the credit monthly and ensuring that it is paid off as you use it.  This establishes that you are  not a high risk to lend money to as you make your payments on time.  He alao talks about how when your credit rating is good you are offered lower interest rates.  Not only do credit places check your credit score, potential employers and insurance companies may and this can be helpful for premiums.

This is a useful video as the woman explains what to look for when you are going out to rent an apartment. She talks about how you could check out apartments in the area which you want to live and if you can afford it. She also talks about the benefits of a co-signer if you require on and also the idea of having a roommate to ease the cost of the apartment. You must know the roommate and how responsible they are about making sure they pay all the bills on time. You do not want to move in with someone only to find out that they cant afford their half of the bills because you are still responsible for the full cost of the expense.  
I felt that the information in this video was useful because
there are points about renting that you may not think about. One point is that to make sure you find out all information on what is included in the cost of
rent and what else you are responsible for. You do not want to find out there
are extra expenses you were not budgeted and prepared for.

You can use a realtor to help with this task. You give the realtor all the information and requirements that you are looking for and they try to match you up with some apartments to view. Although this takes a lot of the work out of looking for an apartment, there is an extra charge added to your moving out budget. The decision is yours to make if you can afford this.  
If you choose the less expensive route, then you can look in
newspapers and rental ad magazines. There is a section in the newspaper for
rentals and there are periodicals out there that have rental information in
them. One could also use websites on the internet to look for rentals.

After all the information has been checked and you are
offered the apartment, you more than likely will be asked to sign a rental
agreement or lease. Most leases or rental agreements require you to have a
deposit of first and last month’s rent as well as the fact they are required to
be signed yearly. They ensure that the landlord has a tenant for at least a
year. Make sure all the terms in this agreement are what was said when you went
to see this apartment because once you sign this agreement it is a legal and
binding agreement and cannot be changed.  You do not want any unexpected
charges or "surprises" that you did not agree to.
