To be completely honest, I avoided touching a lot of the market items because I felt bad touching someone else's food, BUT from touching and watching others touch a few things everything felt very fresh. This market definitely has the freshest of the freshest produce and meats.

Mercado Da Ribeira was filled with all kinds of fresh produce and meats as well as hardworking vendors and busy buyers. Vendors were cleaning and placing their products and making sure their customers were satisfied and generously answered any questions. Customers seemed to be regulars at this market and I imagined they were buying their weekly produce and meats for their families at home. The environment of Mercado Da Ribeira is filled with interexchange and reciprocation between vendors and customers.

I only tasted one item which was a Pastel De Nata! This was the first time trying it and it was delicious!! It was a lot sweeter than I was expecting, but I loved it. I will definitely be getting for breakfast VERY often.

SMELL

The market had all different types of smells. Some really good and some not so good,,, The fish smell was very prominent at first, but once you get farther in the market the smell of the fresh produce and the baked goods was scrumptious!

"You're Gonna Go Far" by Noah Kahan encompasses the atmosphere of the market. The market, to me, feels really grounding and reminds me how good humans are. The vendors are generous enough to provide these products for their regular customers and ones they don't even know. This song is my grounding song when I'm anxious and I feel like the atmosphere of the market would be a grounding environment.
