They next go to Laestrygones, an island inhabited by cannibals. The survivors of the cannibals’ attack sail to Aeaea, home to the goddess Circe. Odysseus and his men watch them for 3 days, observing everything they do. Odysseus takes 12 of his men into the cave along with some extremely strong wine. They get trapped in the cave and the cyclops eats Odysseus’ men. They get the cyclops really drunk and stab his eye with a stake. They then escaped by hanging on to the underbellies of the sheep.
