Conscious Discipline – Handling Upset the Adult – First Mindset Shift

Many discipline methods fail because they expect adults to teach emotional and behavioral skills, they haven't mastered themselves. Programs that focus only on guiding children's behavior—without supporting adults in developing their own skills—are ineffective.

VIPs of Behavior is a six-part professional learning series. Together we'll explore some of the less obvious forces that shape children's behavior. The way a child processes movement, body position, internal sensations, and cues of safety have a powerful effect on attention, emotional regulation, relationships, participation, and behavior. Over six interactive, two-hour sessions, you will explore:

· Sensory Integration & Behavior: Too much, too little, or just right?

· Vestibular Processing: Struggling to sit still, crashing into others, always on the go, learn what drives movement seeking behavior.

· Interoception: Physical and emotional outbursts that come "out of nowhere" can be some of the trickiest to understand, explore the system that can clue us in.

· Proprioception: Children who "don't know their own strength" and behave in ways that are rough, impulsive or aggressive can create a sense of fear in both children and adults.

· Neuroception: Fight, flight, and freeze are essential for survival, but they aren't learning states.

· Putting It All Together: Time to put it all together, problem solve and apply what we have learned to real situations in your everyday lives.

Each session will include hands-on activities and opportunities to experience and apply concepts, not just hear about them. Come prepared to move, experience, question, discuss, and look at behavior in a whole new way.

January 13 - 6:30 - 8:30pm

January 27 - 6:30 - 8:30pm

February 10 - 6:30 - 8:30pm

February 24 - 6:30 - 8:30pm

March 10 - 6:30 - 8:30pm

March 24 - 6:30 - 8:30pm

Register HERE: https://forms.gle/Ly753dhFZc5W1q4C8
