Police and eye witnesses eventually believed that man was Richard Jones, and that he likely went by the nickname Rick. He was arrested months later and convicted of aggravated robbery the following year, despite his alibi that he never left his house that Memorial Day. One of the witnesses said the robber had a tattoo on his left arm; Jones didn’t have one at that time. He was sentenced to 19 years of prison. Jones sat behind bars, bitter and confused about why he was there, his attorney said. Finally, several years later, things began to make sense. Investigators discovered that the crime Jones was convicted of was very likely committed by another man — his doppelganger with a somewhat-similar first name.Ricky Amos had been in and out of prison since the 1990s.

This information was found from the “Washington Post” and understood by me.

The struggle to prove that Steve is innocent is still on. O’Brien is trying to distance Steve from King and Bobo as much as possible and Briggs is doing the opposite. Sometimes, when Steve think about how he could go to jail for the rest of his life, he can hardly breathe and is very scared. He is overwhelmed by it. In court, Dorothy Moore states that King gave her a lamp, but she might be lying because she couldn’t prove it. George Nipping says that King is left handed because of the baseball glove that he gave him. The defence said that he couldn’t have shot it because the medical exams showed that he was shot from the right arm. Steve is still very nervous, but O’Brien tells him to take the stand and show them that he is innocent. Bobo’s testimony shows that Steve mad no signal when he got out of the drugstore and says that he doesn’t know him. On the last day, the defence and the prosecution said their last words to the jury. They concluded that Steve was innocent and King was sentenced to 25 years to life. When O’Brien heard that and when Steve tried to hug her, her reacted weirdly and made Steve wonder what she saw. All in all, him and his family were together again and extremely happy, but some doubts come from his father.
