There might be some details to highlight the main event, it is generally short and to the point. Analysis goes more in detail and helps the audience really understand how the author feels about the piece. The way an author would present an analysis through their choice of language and tone would help readers to understand their purpose. This also helps to understand why they include information and if it might be important to their point they are trying to make.

"When you tell someone how the game went last night, what happened in the new movie you just saw, or even what your cousin said about her last vacation, you are summarizing" (48). Summary is the process of outlining the main elements of the text or something you want to talk about. "...interpreting the events of the game and evaluating how well the game went and why it went that way--you have shifted from summary to analysis" (49). An analysis is a more in depth look in the elements you found in the summary and examining why they happened.
